Noticed that afterburner settings get reset back to defaults after you reboot computer. Is there any way to make the settings persistent?
I have to reboot my mining rig once in a while and it remembers the settings no problem

does afterburner start up automatically on reboot?
you can save the settings as profile on afterburner and when you reboot it will re-use the last used setting.

you can also start the profile with the batch file. I removed it from mine, but it was something like
`c:\program files\afterburner\afterburner.exe -profile1` or something along those lines.

Yes, click the windows button... but make sure you are REALLY happy with them so you don’t death loop from a bad clock... I prefer to just save the profile and set it after rebooting
Ah missed that button. Looks like it will work but like you say, maybe not the safest method to avoid any risk of this death loop.

Nope doesn't start up automatically. I see that in the settings though.

that said, i like LilDrunkSmurf's idea. I'll add that command in my start.bat file with a short pause before it kicks off the miner executable.

Now that’s it’s getting warm out... anyone with temp issues that hasn’t set a custom fan profile... do it, huge changes even if you don’t tweak the table

It's in the settings of afterburner somewhere. Run at startup and apply at startup or something.

I doubt you'd ever have a death loop unless your settings were messed up. Most of the time if you have pushed it too far it'll run into issues under heavy load. Should still be able to boot windows and change it if you needed. Or worse case boot to safe mode.

I had a death loop, trying to get my memory OC to match the "heavy" OC some were running. Had to google the escape key combo so it wouldn't load the profile on boot up

Im mining ERG right now, about 500mh/s and mining about 1.5 ERG per day. Not as profitable as eth but still "in the money". Im mining to hold since i ROI'd my mining rig already.

ERG mines cooler but those temps are find. I run under 65F with fans less the 50%.

One of my coworkers is 50% of the helium hotspots in/around Edmonton. I asked him about it, and there's ways to generate money even in the boonies (throw tinfoil on it, so you can place 2 near each other and they feed off each other), but all the helium hotspots have been backordered for like 9 months.

The only one that lets you order is Bobcat, and they say 12-20 weeks.. From what some of the online videos say, you can pay off the $500 within a few weeks, perhaps worth a few hundred extra to get moving soon if they pay off that quickly.

So do you have a miner? I was reading about this today. Seems like there are a bunch of people mining in aspen but none in my area. Also a bunch downtown. Unsure if it would be worth the 12 week wait for a couple of miners.

I wonder if its worth even getting one or two at this stage. I could potentially have two or three setup in Calgary but would I realistically be able to make a ROI after the halving this year and next year. There are a few spots adjacent to my house but they are up a hill. Im unsure how this frequency thing works that it could bend over the hill. It maybe 10M high that it would have to go over.

I was going back and forth between ordering and just paying a ridiculous price on kijiji/FB marketplace. For the price it would take as long to payoff as it would if you just waited.. then apparently there is the split in August where only 2.5M coins would be made available from that point on instead of 5...

I wonder if there are any competitors in the space that are early in the rollout ?

    same story
Buying the Dip is also a good strategy which the buy a little every week does do, and the year 2017 number include buying on Dec 18th when price was $19,379.
and here is the nice article for you about how to trade Bitcoin

Bit late to the party but took awhile to get the new computer set up. Have a 3080 FTW3, using Nicehash and the DaggerHashimoto algo with either excavator or NBminer. Tweaked things in MSI Afterburner and very happy how things are looking:

    Core clock: -150
    Memory clock: +1200
    Power limit: 63%
    Temp limit: 70C
    Fan speed: 74%

GPU temps change between 52-54C. Junction temps between 90-94C.

    Been getting between 94-99 MH/s @ 238 watts, 380-420 eff/W.

Do you guys use your CPU at all in tandem with the GPU? I haven't bothered with it.

I may tinker more but for now I'm happy there is no limiter and I can control the temps very well.
