i have a pending payout that's stuck cuz i set my gas fee to 50 gwei. right now its 206 so i guess i'll bump up my max gas fee to 250 and see if that works.

Nice job colsankey, 0.1 eth every 10 days is pretty decent coin. I'm at a measly 0.05ish every month haha. oh well better than nothing, about 30% of the way to pay off my rig! hoping proof of stake continues to get pushed out, another 6 months of mining and i think i can have this fully paid off and essentially end up with a decent gaming rig for free.

How often are you getting pay outs? Seeing gas fees eat a bit of my transactions too, but since I'm hitting .1 eth every 10 days I feel like that's frequent enough.
I normally mine on NH, I just swap to ETH mining when NH is low payouts. So I roughly see 0.01 every month.

I just did a payout, and after 3 days of mining I am now at 0.004, so I am around that 0.01 every 10 days or so too

I think I need to find a way to mine directly to my binance wallet though. Trust wallet takes like $10 every time I withdraw from it.

I've been waiting until I have 0.001 BTC in NH and transferring to Coinberry since their selling fees from BTC to CAD are super low and then a EMT to my bank account with $100 min.

The spread on some of these exchanges are bad.

So probably going to regret this...

What would a budget mining rig look like these days?

Planning a PC upgrade anyway since fusion 360 keeps demanding bigger GPU's of me. And I suddenly live in an apartment with 3x 20amp baseboard heaters - mining crypto seems less wasteful than creating a short circuit to heat this place

FB marketplace says there's some 1070ti's for not insane $ any better choices?

I did set a gas limit, but I have no idea what the translation is. Min Gwei is 10, Max is 500. It kept telling me it wouldn't pay out til it was under my limit, so I kept increating my limit. I didn't realize 250 Gwei = 0.0045 ETH (even through that's not actually the case)

I don't think this is exposing keys or anything, but this is my Jul 27 transaction vs my Aug 27:
    https://www.etherchain.org/tx/0x431c...74b1ae2b2296c6
    https://www.etherchain.org/tx/0x9782...2afba0ff59c997

0.01065 ETH (payed out 0.01065 ETH) w/ 0.00002 ETH fee (covered by the pool). 1.0 Gwei
    vs
0.01002 ETH (payed out 0.00553 ETH) w/ 0.00442 ETH fee (covered by me) 210.4 Gwei
So each gwei is equal to 0.000000001 ETH (10-9 ETH). But theres also a gas limit as well. The standard gas limit is 21000 units of gas. So the transaction fee for 1 eth in this case would be: Gas units (limit) * Gas price per unit i.e 21,000 * 200 = 4,200,000 gwei or 0.0042 ETH

On one or two cards, is there really much difference in payout at the end of the day between what you guys are using and Nicehash? In other words, is it worth the hassle?

It depends on what you want out of it. Mine for revenue, mine to hold, or just a hobby/computer upgrade. Depending on the use case, the costs vary. I mine to hold. I earn about $450-$500 CAD after power each month. My rig consists of 2 x 3060ti, 2 x 1070ti, and one RX580. I paid retail for the new cards, and bought systems and sold the parts for the used cards. This cost me a total of $2600. Started back in April and through appreciation of some coins, I returned my initial investment 2x already. I was mining ETH for the most part but used the ETH to buy some other alts while shaving off some $$ to cover power.

You can find cards now adays that will return your cost in 6 months. That would be my limit when buying them.

Today, if i was doing it over, i would be mining ERGO or RVN as the new cards are neutered and the older full hash rate cards are more month. The best bang for buck is the 3060ti for hash vs power. I really like the older RX570/580 cards too as they hash as good as the 10XX but for half the power.

Paying about $750 a card and accounting for mobo, cpu, PSU, risers, ect. A 5 card system would cost about $4500. You'd earn about $20/d after power and pay back just under 6 months.

The key is finding the GPU's as cheap as possible

If I'm going to burn 20ish amps heating - makes more sense to me to at least get something back from it, rather than just turning it straight into heat with no work done along the way.

Grabbed a MSI 2060 super, and Asus 1070ti for 220$ & 200$ this weekend. Trying to get the software / wallets figured out.

Mostly just planning to hold/trade whatever they earn. Maybe fund next round of computer upgrades.

the fuq where you snagged those cards for cheap, congrats man.
you can easily use https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator/ to see how much you can earn with those cards
close to 3 US$/day with 2060Super and 2 US$/day for 1070ti so you should recover the cost of the cards easily within the next 90 days.

if you have a 750w PSU already and extra pcie 1x slots on your pc, then you can use what pc you have.
else just build a cheap pc for around 200$

I've just stuck with nicehash the whole time. 10-12$ a day (3060ti, 3060, 1070) pretty steady though some fluctuations up and down. Currently at ~1,800$ in my holdings so far so pretty happy with it. Only mistake was exchanging some for doge but that was a small amount thankfully.

I've migrated mine to HiveOS and am currently running cgminer for ERGO.

Why ERGO? I want to get ahead of anything I need to, sooner rather than later.

Hmm, might try BetterHash for a while. Then HiveOS.
