welcome to the mining gang man! lildrunkensmurf has a 3080 hopefully he can share some tips. that hashrate is what you should be getting not sure about watt usage.

dont bother mining with cpu unless you are trying to squeeze every dollar and dont mind not being able to use the pc while it is busy mining.
my wife uses the pc to wfh while its busy mining with just the gpus

Honestly, I swapped to the Quickminer, and leave it on the `lite` setting. Way less power usage, for ~80-90MH/s. Sit ~ 470-500eff. GPU sits ~51* and Junctions are 90*. Since I use my PC throughout the day, you can see my numbers drop as I join zoom meetings and such.

This is what my console outputs when I turn on "Medium" tuning (from Nicehash)
OPTIMIZE lock device GeForce RTX 3080 (#0)
Power mode (MAX TDP) set to: medium
Memory clock delta set to 0
    Core uvolt reset
    Reset max core clock
Core clock max set to 1080
Memory clock delta set to 900
Power mode (MAX TDP) set to: high
    Device #0 SmartFan mode: 3 Fan_fixed: 100 % GPU_targ: 58 C VRAM_targ: 94 C
    That's currently hammering out 92.54MH/s @ 204W for an efficiency of 450.74kH/J

When I swap it back to "Lite" tuning:
OPTIMIZE lock device GeForce RTX 3080 (#0)
Power mode (MAX TDP) set to: medium
Memory clock delta set to 0
    Core uvolt reset
    Reset max core clock
Core clock max set to 975
Memory clock delta set to 300
Power mode (MAX TDP) set to: high
    Device #0 SmartFan mode: 3 Fan_fixed: 100 % GPU_targ: 62 C VRAM_targ: 94 C
    Net's me about 86MH/s @ 194W for an efficiency of 438.81kH/J

I ran it at medium for ages, but have been running into blackscreen/GPU driver crashes, and had a full day of BSOD, which I think might be a stick of ram or something, but I haven't had time to properly troubleshoot, so I removed my CPU OC, and swapped my miner to "lite" just so I could get some work done.

I think mine would be considered to be High with these settings, but the Quickminer sounds like it makes your life easier

Is that based on NH’s “accepted speed” or the actual output (numbers from the command window that shows the “stream”)

Command prompt varies of course. Last night and today hovers around 97-101.

I found stock ran hotter, lower hashrate and used more power than dialing things in.

    You're probably right. It's at 77 degrees.

My stomach says challenge accepted. My ass says absolutely not.

The GPU temp is less important than the memory junction temp. You can use this software to keep an eye on it:

Yeah, the 3000 series can all be undervolted to save power and reduce heat. At the least do that, though you can also push the mem clock to profit more as well

So instead of playing with the GPU settings, I just set Nicehash to "medium" power. My GPU temp went from 77 degrees to 66 degrees, hash rate and profitability stayed flat.

    PROJECTED YEARLY INCOME

Will try low settings later to see what happens, After that, I'll play with GPU settings.

You are far better off to just skip nicehash and go with a proper miner and afterburner. Depending on the algo you will likely see a performance boost too.

I decided to decrease my mem junction temp to a max of 92C. I was seeing 96C today while still getting 99-100MH/s but didn't like it that high.

Decreased power limit to 59%, which seems to have the absolute biggest difference on temp. Seems like every 1% of power was a 2C max increase at the junction. I decreased the mem boost because it seemed like after a certain point it wasn't making any difference if not making things worse, so I backed it off to +850. Core clock doesn't change much if anything for me no matter how I set it up so I've left it at -150. But what increased my hash rate slightly was decreasing the fan speed from 74 to 70. Must be a power allocation thing since I have it so limited.

Now I'm consistently getting 90-92C (absolute max) at the junction, 50-51C GPU temp, and 91-94 MH/s. Less efficient and lower hash rate but I like seeing the lower temps.

Tried the exact same settings in Precision X1 and MSI AB...every damn time AB is 3-4MH/s better. Doesn't make sense but it has consistently done this.

As an aside, I bought CyberPunk last night and on my 27" monitor I can play it completely maxed out! Love this card...

Ethermine no longer feels as good. Ever since the hard fork, you get screwed on fees. Did a payout of 0.01 ETH, and only ended up receiving 0.0055ETH, since the fees were 0.0045ETH.

Look at switching to Flexpool, payout is at 0.01 but you can set a gas price limit as well so it will only payout if the gas is below a certain threshold.

I did set a gas limit, but I have no idea what the translation is. Min Gwei is 10, Max is 500. It kept telling me it wouldn't pay out til it was under my limit, so I kept increating my limit. I didn't realize 250 Gwei = 0.0045 ETH (even through that's not actually the case)

I don't think this is exposing keys or anything, but this is my Jul 27 transaction vs my Aug 27:
    https://www.etherchain.org/tx/0x431c...74b1ae2b2296c6
    https://www.etherchain.org/tx/0x9782...2afba0ff59c997

0.01065 ETH (payed out 0.01065 ETH) w/ 0.00002 ETH fee (covered by the pool). 1.0 Gwei
    vs
0.01002 ETH (payed out 0.00553 ETH) w/ 0.00442 ETH fee (covered by me) 210.4 Gwei

How often are you getting pay outs? Seeing gas fees eat a bit of my transactions too, but since I'm hitting .1 eth every 10 days I feel like that's frequent enough.
