More pictures of the front end assembly and a picture of the relined brake shoes. Getting the front hubs installed on the upper and lower control arms was one of the most difficult jobs. You'd be surprised how many seals, washers and spacers need to fit in to a tight space. Took my father and I about 5 hours to get both sides installed.

Time to get back to posting updates on this thread. These are some pictures of the rear end. These old Mercedes had an early independent suspension known as a swing axle. One side of the rear end is fixed while the other has a pivot.

Assembling the rear end was another project that was fairly difficult. Getting the correct backlash and meshing pinion gear correctly with the differential was a bit of trial and error without some special jigs the factor uses. Also lots of washers and and seals that fit on to the pivot pin of the swing axle which was quite difficult to assemble.

More of the rear end assembly. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the fully completed reassembly.

Here is the car with the front and rear ends bolted back on and dropped on to its wheels again.

These are the latest pictures on the progress from about a month ago. Preliminary mounting of the body panels. I don't believe there has been much progress over the last month as they have been finishing up some other projects.

It's been a while since I've updated this thread. There wasn't much work happening on it in the past year. However recently they test fit all the old chrome bits after finishing all the metal work. Should be ready for primer soon.

Looking good! Nice to see you've got Dion's outfit doing the bodywork.

I think I've know Dion since Jr. High. He's always got lots of cool restoration projects on the go in his shop.

Hmm, I'm not too sure. Did he have it posted on Facebook or Instagram? Where do you know Dion from? Have you had some work done by him?

He was teasing it on FB for a while and posting updates. I know him from 4x4ing, haven't had any work done there yet but have seen some nice rides come out of that shop.

No I don't work there, I've known the owner since Jr. High. He has lots of cool projects coming out of his shop. You can check out their FB or Instagram pages to see the different projects. They've always been very open and upfront with the quality of their work.

Some more recent update photos. The update I received prior to these photos was that the polyester filler work was completed, and will then go in to primer, guide coat, more blocking, likely primer, guide coat and block again.
