Drove by the Fairview nutcase church just as they were finished service today. Not a mask among them as they exited.

Much like climate change is a religion too. No science anymore and definitely no economic decisions made regarding it.
Just fanatics screaming and holding signs blocking traffic.
I don't know if climate change itself is a religion. But certainly the policy responses are.

This will setup nicely for when it's a real deadly pandemic. Clean out the religious go-ers.

If you believe in a magic men in the sky you are not executing as highly on an intellectual level as someone who doesn't.
This is true. Of course, very few people probably believe in a magic man, or men, in the sky.

We never did see enough delicious covid-based justice from these rulebreakers.

He is one of them, he's just taking offence to calling his god a magic man in the sky, and not the omnipotent creator of the universe who's entire who ego rests upon the shoulders of human beings on a single planet out of trillions of trillions of planets in said universe.

God, yes; a magic man in the sky, no. To be fair, though, Mormons do believe God was once a man. But Christians certainly don't believe such a thing.

Offense? Not at all. I just find it ironic when someone says that people who believe in a magic man in the sky aren't "executing as highly on an intellectual level as someone who doesn't," yet that very statement shows ignorance both of what those people believe and also just how educated some of those people are. It's just a straw man that makes it easier to dismiss religious beliefs without actually looking into them.

Dawkins might be a good scientist (does anyone really know?) but even atheist philosophers want him to stop talking about religion because his reasoning is so poor. He hasn't been a thing for a few years now.

What’s the difference between a magic man in the sky, and god.

Is the issue that we assumed his gender?

Calling a person's "god" a magic man in the sky is making fun of them, not misinterpreting facts.

Wait a sec, so are you guys suggesting there isn't a long bearded man in heaven that watches over everything we do and meddles in all of our business and determines the outcome of our lives as long as we worship him and pay money (in cash) to the church? If that's the case, what's stopping everyone from doing crime and raping and pillaging?

Personally, I partake in quite a bit of it since the threat of eternal damnation does not factor into my decisions.

Christians indeed believed the embodiment of god was human.

The more traditional Christian sects definitely believed (and still do) the holy trinity where god, Christ, and the Holy Spirit are one.

Therefore god/Christ same same. Christ was a human.

    Etc.
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."

Who said "Mormans aren't Christians"? I'm pretty sure they are.
This path to enlightenment is so divisive.
