It's not magic of it was really a technologically advanced civilization.

God, yes; a magic man in the sky, no. To be fair, though, Mormons do believe God was once a man. But Christians certainly don't believe such a thing.

Christian isn't a religion, it is the belief of many religions. One of them being Mormon. This entire sentence of yours makes no sense.

I was taken to a Mormon church for like 10 years until I was adult enough to make the decision not to go. When you start questioning the crazy shit you're being taught, you tend to research this stuff. Turns out they're all equally crazy in their own right. It's always slightly interesting when you meet someone totally indoctrinated into their specific sect of religion, that they make up or believe flat out inaccuracies about the other extremely similar belief systems that aren't theirs. Starts to make a lot of sense why religion has killed more people than communism/socialism.

I fucking love mormons. By FAR the most entertaining religion. I almost think it's a troll.

A guy looking in a magic hat to translate ancient arabic, vs a guy talking to a burning bush. Matter of perspective I suppose. Although Mormons believe both, so you're probably right they're a tad bit more crazy. But you're splitting hairs.

    You're right....

But that's my logic basically. If you believe all the crazy regular christian funny stuff, and then you layer on another level of additional crazy stuff, I think by definition you take the prize.

Mormons like wide streets and basketball. I can find no faults. Helps that one of my first crushes was a Mormon girl.

I've known a few mormons over the years. Great people. Heard they donate 10% of their income to the church. Everything else I know from southpark or book of mormon. Both absolutely hilarious

Tithing is a part of many religions as it comes from the Bible. I always wondered how many Mormons actually did donate the 10%. Then I found out about their 1billion dollar hush hush investment fund that they have grown to 100 billion, and I figure it must be a lot of them sticking to the 10% rule.

    Lots of issues:
Belief in the oppression of Women
    Racism
Actively against anyone who is gay or other
    Active Tax evasion/tax fraud
    Hiring of Mormon only employees

Some how this all floats under the media radar.

The church is a great profession for those high up. The rest of the golden tablet believers are suckers and blissfully ignorant to any of the problems.

For the record, my "can find no faults" was a joke. I knew they had more going on than an affinity for wide street and basketball.

"Why so mad Mike? Did one of your wives convert to Mormon or something?"

You just described almost every religion. The only difference between them and most others, is that they haven't had a religious war, yet.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1838_Mormon_War

This is pretty small to be considered a war, but the early days of the church is full of death, pretty much everywhere they went people wanted them gone. One of the reasons for the original polygamy was to have enough women birthing children to replace all the men they were losing. That and being creepy weirdos. It's why Utah was given statehood, instead of trying to break them with violence the government offered them legitimacy in exchange for ending polygamy

I know Catholics that have done this their whole lives and think if you don't give at least 10% to the church you're robbing them of what they are owed.

'A fence has been erected around the Alberta church whose congregation has met for months in violation of provincial COVID-19 orders.

Chain link fencing surrounded GraceLife Church in Parkland County west of Edmonton Wednesday morning.

Alberta Health Services said it closed the building and will be preventing access to it until GraceLife "can demonstrate the ability to comply with Alberta's Chief Medical Officer of Health's restrictions."'

    https://edmonton.ctvnews.ca/fence-go...ders-1.5377597

That's one way to deal with it.
