The new sport sedan will pack a 472-horsepower, 5.0-liter V8 with 395 pound-feet of torque, making it the spiritual successor to the discontinued Lexus IS F.

I hope they put a proper transmission in this thing instead of a slush box.

It'll be the same ZF8 that was in the ISF, which is as good or better than any DSG I've driven. Shifts faster and harder (at least it did the way it was programmed in my ISF), but smoother at slow speed, I would take it over a DSG any day.

They've stated that this is intended to compete with the C43, S4, M340i, which I think it does reasonably well. I'd definitely take over one of those, as it will go for 250k with only oil changes. Hopefully since this thing is the F sport performance (or w/e), they'll actually release an ISF in a couple years with over 500hp to compete with M3/C63.

slush box only. Sounds like they just lifted the whole thing from LC500 and slap it into the IS. Limited final run on this 13 year old platform I guess.

I loved this engine in my RCF. It just sucks that it’s kinda slow because of our elevation.

The refresh looks much more like a Camry now, haha.
Typical Toyota/Lexus philosophy to stick with the same engine as current line-up.

Saw this. OMG......i want one. Too bad the model refresh has that ugly ass camry rear end; besides that, the front looks pretty good.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

The mouse in my dad's LC500 is not nearly as bad as the internet makes it out to be. That being said, it's ridiculous that any new car wouldn't have a touchscreen as an option for UI.

I love love love my mouse, but it has a thumb button. I drove a newer courtesy car where the whole pad had to be depressed to select something, and it gave me Ebola Virus. Hate doesn't even scratch the surface.
    Are they still like that?

Yeah, my wife has a 2020 NX and I don't love the UI...strongly prefer my volvo in that regard. The UI isn't awful, but it's clunkier than it should be.

So essentially this is a E90 with better reliability, but no manual option. Oh well. It's out of my new price range but on the used market it could be worth considering. NA V8 sedans, with RWD, are rare these days.

What’s so exciting about this car? It is essentially a 13-year-old platform, with a bunch of recycled parts, and some updates. In terms of performance, N/A V8 RWD in Calgary, I doubt it even competes with the C43/S4/M340i.
