Would make sense if Vaccines were available. But they aren’t.

We fuckin have it, already. Parts of Canada are being allowed to keep other Canadian citizens from entering because they feel like it.

You think by June everyone who wants a vaccine with have one?

If so, I have this bridge in Brooklyn I’d like to sell. Want to handle the listing?

As a requirement for non-citizens or non-PR entering the country, yes. It makes no sense to allow provinces and municipalities to create their own systems which would just be a hindrance to movement.

I bet that a lot of people wouldn’t support it once they realize their kids don’t get a pass because they haven’t gotten vaccinated

Liberals are trying to make international travel a pain in the ass because they know the minute they let people leave they’ll never come back. After 6 years of ruining this country why would anyone want to return. Sure bring on the passports, have the feds control international travel based on provincial vaccination rollout and tracking. What could go wrong.

Children will be exempt until one is available for them.

They don’t need an exemption. They can still transmit at a rate that is higher than if they had a vaccine. Until then, there is take out, masks, distancing and remote learning. People have spent the last 8 months saying that you don’t have a right to put others at risk and that if you want to claim an exemption there are other routes available to you, no reason for that to change now. Unless people feel that THEY’LL be the ones inconvenienced

And that’s why you should get vaccinated.

At first I thought it was a good idea. But now, I'm not even sure I will get the Vax. The way that getting it has been going and the fact that it sounds like it does almost fuck all, boggles my mind at the fact so many people are lining up for it.

On the other hand, i want to leave this hell hole, so if I have to I will get it just to leave.

I'm baffled as to how vaccine passports will lower anyone's risks or protect any portion of the economy. Once vaccines are available to everyone who wants them, then who is rhe passport protecting? Anti vaxxers?

    Facts

Zane says there is emerging evidence indicating the vaccine does help prevent the spread of COVID-19, including studies out of Israel. One study conducted by the Israeli Health Ministry and Pfizer Inc. found that the vaccine reduced infection, including asymptomatic cases, by 89.4% and in symptomatic cases by 93.7%

How do you figure that the vaccine does fuck all? Is a 90% reduction in severe disease and almost 100% reduction in death not good enough? All the top people were willing to push these things if they were even half as good as they turned out to be.

@89coupe did you mean to quote me? I know what the vaccine does. I'm clear on those benefits. I'm confused how the passport helps unless we plan to have a long term shortage of the vaccines.

He doesn't know what he's replying to. All he is good for is regurgitating CBC's latest covid updates and acting like he's morally superior to people disagreeing with CBC's (or in his mind, his) opinions.

How about this government consider not fucking up for a change. With a VERY long list of recent fuckups fresh in mind how can anyone still support this? Let's not even bring up the last failed registry the Liberals screwed up.

It prevents people from entering countries without being vaccinated.

    Pretty simple.

I have a feeling by next year we won’t have any shortages.

I am thinking that maybe with the passport, if you travel out of the country, you don't have to do the hotel quarantine when you arrive back in the country. If you haven't been vaccinated, you have to spend the min 3 days in a quarantine hotel, etc...

At least that is my take on it. YMMV.
