The best way I have described it to people is getting your shot is a civic duty, like voting. No one pretends their individual vote matters, just like you getting your individual shot doesn’t matter. It’s about hitting a critical mass of voters such that our election isn’t a complete a sham.

I think it’s an apt analogy, considering I imagine it will be as hard to convince people to get their shots - and similar demographic turnout.

Had an interesting conversation with someone yesterday who was convinced if they get a shot they will be exempted from any sort of restrictions or healthcare measures. Travel without quarantine, social gatherings, etc.

I was called an asshole for bursting that bubble and pointing out there is literally no special circumstances available to people with vaccines in Canada, nor will there be for quite some time if at all.

Actually I have heard a lot of BS from shockingly educated people about how their lives will change “once they have their second shot”.

Sounds like in NYC, you cant go anywhere until 14 days after your 2nd shot or you get a negative test 72hr ahead of every indoor venue you want to attend.

So giving exemption to vaccinated people by CDC is a good idea. Forcing vaccination is bad. Corporation and individual to bar unvaccinated from their premise is good?
