That's what I mean. You won't notice cosmetic damage on your own roof. Also, there's no way insurance would replace a metal roof that's fully functional. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
So you want a metal roof, but you won't want your neighbors to have it, because you can see theirs.

It's sorta intrinsic to the material. I have been in a house that has a metal roof while it rained. The owner said it was one of his great regrets. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I don't know, insurance basically forced me to replace donwspouts and gutters from a hail storm once, when all I really wanted was an inspection to determine if the roof was functional and still weatherproof. They didn't replace the asphalt shingles, but claimed that the dented eavestroughing was a "functional issue".This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Sometimes insurance does things that don't make sense to us lowly customers. I assume they make sense at some level, because if there's one thing insurance companies seem good at it's making money, so they presumably are good at not wasting it too. I can't really evaluate that.
Problem is they start to rust, deform and fall apart once they're dented.
