2006 Lancer Ralliart Manual transmission difficult shifting

I have a 2006 Lancer Ralliart, and I was getting gas, and when I turned the car back on the transmission started having difficulty going into gear.

If I turn the car off and shift it into gear and back on I can start driving and if the car is moving I can shift it into gear, but if I am at a dead stop there is no way to shift it into gear.

I installed a brand new clutch back in Dec 2020 and my mechanic can't figure it out without taking off the trans and charging me a boat load of money.



Anyone have previous experience with a problem like this?

Im not familiar with that platform but is it a hydraulic clutch line? Check for leaks at slave and master cylinder? Maybe got some air in the system which would make sense on a 1st gear difficult to engage.

Def. check fluid level. My older 2G eclipse blew a master cylinder and leaked it all over the interior. Harder and harder to get in gear.

Master clutch cylinder? I am going to order a new master and slave once they get back in stock. I think that might be the problem, it seems to be what everyone else is thinking too. Also someone pitched the idea of a throw bearing? No idea what that is.

Are you getting noise when its in neutral with the clutch in? And then the noise goes away when you release the clutch? Thats a throw bearing (I could have it backwards too).

I had the same issue with my Zonda two years ago. I could not get into gear and I was stuck on 14th St.
It was the master cylinder. I never changed the fluid, so overtime air gets in and it just goes.
