    Common problem.

People start the car in the cold and fully blast the heat. The best way to get heat and maintain it is to keep it on cold until the needles starts moving.
The CRV climate control is all automatic, so unless someone manually overrode it which I imagine most people can't be bothered to do, heat won't start flowing until the engine is warm. I would think the average owner doesn't even know how to get it into manual mode haha. Maybe that's why you don't hear much about the issue? Just a guess.

My 2017 1.5T warmed up pretty fast, after a few KM of gentle driving after a start in -30C I had warm (but not hot) air blowing.

Having a climate control doesnt mean it's automatic by default. People pick their fan speed hoping to get more "heat". I'd say any average driver knows how to turn up the fan speed...

It's definitely a common problem if you make short trips or in constant stop and go traffic.

So nice to live somewhere that defogging /defrosting windows is easy. Nice dry desert air on the windswept prairies.

Yeah my old beaters always had heat that ripped
    Also agree.
Old diesel Rabbits and Jettas would melt your shoes on max heat on the west coast and easily keep the cabin warm in -30°C in Alberta.
Much less than that and I'd install a custom WinterFront. At -40 there would be condensation if >2 adults were in the vehicle, but that was fair for an old balls car with <100hp!

My 2006 diesel jetta definitely struggles a bit at -30. A winter front would fix it right up though.
