I assume they are saying that no fan tickets means less revenue, but F1 wants an extra 6 million or will cancel Montreal race.

It’s going to be cancelled. They don’t even have money to refund ticket purchases from last year’s cancelled race. Anyone that even thought Montreal would happen this year is dreaming. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Maybe I’m giving the quebec government too much credit for not paying haha.

Can they afford the Transat bailout and the F1 race? Maybe a 2-for-1 deal that includes naming rights?

It's really fucking stupid imo. No ticket sales also means no income for the organizers. It's just a way to push it back another year. Which to be honest I'm okay with. Theyll come back next year as they are signed thru 2029 iirc.

I also read there are concerns over Trudeau's quarantine period and all that... although given it's in Quebec I'm sure the Liberals would provide an exception to keep the Laurentian Elite happy.
This is so not going to happen. Without ticket revenue street circuits make no sense. All that setup and prep/ disruption for absolutely no benefit.
