No brand I recommend. Amazon sells them as well as Canadian Tire and Princess Auto. Probably other places. They aren't complex. If your floor is a little rough, you may want to get ones with large diameter wheels to help roll over the imperfractions. And of course, you want to be sure your garage floor is level, or you'll roll away.

I bought these when they were on sale a couple years ago. Happy enough with them.

They do go on sale for $50 per pair, that's what I paid when I grabbed them.

I wish it was that easy to roll a vehicle on wheel dollies!

I was partly joking. It doesn't happen until it happens, and then it's usually a big problem.

Anyone have the jacks for each tire to move a vehicle around? I'm looking for some and would like to know of some reasonably priced ones.
Grabbed 4 of these vehicle repositioning jacks a few years ago instead of dollies - (on sale of course $90/set) and have used them on several vehicles. Beetle/Cayman/Camaro/Trailer.
Nice as you don't have to jack up the vehicle separately.

I think I got this for $200 on sale. Heavy fella but gets the job done easy.

I also have the Michelin version of this jack. Works well but super heavy. Not sure if you guys have the same issue but using it this weekend the first inch of pump was slack and didn't engage. Probably dying soon but I didn't see any leaks.

I kinda want a cheapie 2 ton floor jack for light duty use like this one: https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/b...-0090263p.html
under 25 lbs sounds good to this old man, but then I'll need a heavier duty thing for other uses. So I end up with two floor jacks? That's probably not what I want in my life.
Have a shitpile of CT money to spend, but maybe I'll just stick to my old jack, it's working, and It's not like I use it more than five or six times a year.
Princess Auto has the trolleys for cheap. We picked some up for a secondary jack and I believe they were $10 each at the time.

When you decide to buy one and you want something light weight I would recommend this one. Its the Arcan aluminum. Got it for my dad and he loves it.

Goes in and out of stock on Costco.ca. It was $120 when I picked it up.

My crappy tire wheel dollies buckled on me last year when i was moving my Civic over. Not a great feeling when the car stats leaning as you're pulling it out.

Mine is still happy but yes, it's crippling heavy. I'm nearly considering getting three more. Takes up way less space than that gimmick mini hoist thing and costs about 70% less.

    Bump

Is this a good deal for a floor jack?

    https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/m...oor%20jack#srp

    Says 'low-profile' so that's a good sign

That's a big jack unless you own a large SUV, a pickup, or an EV. And the Hybrid ones aren't as light as you'd hope, if that matters to you.

Lightweight jacks are only desirable if you need to take them places outside of the shop. For the same price and only use in the shop, this one is a better deal to me.

If you need reach or extra lift height, wait for this one to go on sale again.

Oh really? I need to change tires for the Audi and now a CR-V. Is it still overkill?

    Alternative is this...

    But open to suggestions

I don't need one till October winter change so maybe I can wait for that Eliminator one.

The problem with most jacks is their lift height sucks ass and you always end up needing blocks or ramps.

I got tired of all that shit and splurged and bought the 2nd one linked by Berserker and never looked back. The 24" lift height does wonders for small cars to get it up on jackstands easily.

The other thing that you will find with the small jacks is that when they have weight on them they aren't that graceful to bring down or adjust if you need.

Now that I only have trucks I hate all my jacks… what a slow, pain in the ass it is fucking around with a low pro that’s just not able to get the front wheels off the ground without blocks… and even with them! Barely enough height

Costco has these quick lifts, which look like scissor lifts but they're $1400 yikes

I don't know what it is about that style of Jack but I just can't see myself ever climbing under a car with those.

@gpomp , don't you use that Costco jack in your detail operations?

I bought a Torin jack low pro from Costco. Cant remember how much I paid but it was on sale and $149 or lower

Me too. Plus, I could buy 4 Mastercraft Maximum lo-pro jacks for less than half the cost of that scissor thing and they take up a quarter the floor space. I don't see the benefit.

QuickJacks are awesome if you get the 12V version for use at the track. Less useful at home but still, they pack down nice and they work great for getting all 4 off the ground for rotations. I'd have no concerns about working under them.
