    Default Federal Budget 2021

Eagerly awaiting the release of the "Great Cash Burn" of 2020/21. Given how they're doing in the polls, I imagine they've been pretty fearless in spending given an election may be in their favour and the majority of people will hate on the opposition parties for causing an election during COVID.

    https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/fede...urce-1.5392668

    So far:
    - up to $100 billion between 2021 and 2024 on stimulating the economy.
    - spending allocation for child care will be more than $2 billion
    - new taxes on web giants and a luxury tax on big-ticket items like luxury cars, boats, and planes.
    - As of the 2020 fall economic update released in November, the deficit was projected to be at least $381.6 billion in 2020-21, but was set to close in on $400 billion if Canada experienced a third pandemic resurgence... the deficit will still be lower than $400 billion in Monday’s budget.

My thought? Today’s budget is irrelevant as it will be intentionally designed such that no opposition party can vote for it. This is an election writ plain and simple.

Besides, it’s not like the Liberals give 2 fucks about sticking to a Budget.

    We are so screwed:

I've been telling my parents to move their money out of Canada. They think they may escape the incoming taxes, but I doubt it.

    1000%.

Trudeau is going to try to capitalize on current popularity (), and weakness within all other parties to win a majority.

    We deserve a Liberal majority.

It’s not like any of the opposition has anything to offer and no one in this country seems to mind his open and blatantly corruption or ineptitude.

Justin Trudeau is exactly the Prime Minister we deserve.

    That’s on us, not him.

NDP already said they won’t send us to the polls in a pandemic. Not sure there’s enough to vote against the budget to trigger an election without them.

Jealous that after 3 kids and 20k a year daycare expenses totaling around 250k, @killramos is going to get $2600 a year daycare paid for by my taxes.

    Millenials get everything for nothing.

The CPC war machine has been prepping for an election for weeks, not that it will do the, any good.

I’d say odds of an election this year are very good.

All the inflationary lessons of the past 50 years vapourized.

Governments are responsible for virtually all of human misery - wars, famines, plagues.

This is them doing their natural function.

This. Spain is basically a representation of Canada in 20 years (broke, high unemployment, drowning bureaucracy, high taxes, corruption, and little incentive to work), only Canada has shittier weather, worse food, and more obesity. Thankfully, I am able to ignore Spanish politics and their bullshit doesn't excessively impact the Euro, whereas Trudope and Spending Spreeland are doing their best to melt my Canadian savings.

Once Germany leaves the Euro, it will plummet to ruble status.

If you think Germany would want to leave the Euro, you have no idea how the Euro or European economy works.
