If you think Germany would want to leave the Euro, you have no idea how the Euro or European economy works.
Alright, Germany keeps the Euro and everybody else switches back to dinars.

It seems you know how it works, can you explain it to me?

No countries currently part of the Euro ever used the dinar. Seems you're confusing Europe and the Middle East (granted Serbia and Macedonia still use the dinar).

I was joking about the dinar. Everybody knows they used the yuan.

    Your study says:

"There is still a lack of reliable empirical data about which eurozone countries have gained from the
introduction of the euro and which ones have lost out. Although there have been studies of whether
the euro has promoted trade between eurozone countries,2 the results are not clear-cut. In addition,
focussing on trade only throws light on a small aspect of the introduction of the euro. Disadvantages
of introducing the euro arising from the fact that eurozone countries can no longer devalue their
    currencies, remain unaccounted for. "

But let's assume Germany made out great with the unified currency. A great way to keep those benefits is to now rid themselves of the ties.

20 pages of research and all suntan can find is the disclaimer.

Agreed, although it seems the European economy is the dumpsterfire that the Liberals wants to emulate.

My thought? Today’s budget is irrelevant as it will be intentionally designed such that no opposition party can vote for it. This is an election writ plain and simple.

Besides, it’s not like the Liberals give 2 fucks about sticking to a Budget.
The budget will still be a long term indicator of where the gov't wants to go.

I've had quite a few conversations even just today with people discussing exit plans for Canada if the budget is not punitive to everyone equally (ie if there are wealth taxes, higher cap gains inclusions, etc).

I expect this budget to balance itself.

Now that my expectations have been made clear, this leadership task is complete. Consider yourself led.

I merely came to a different course of action for de Weimarer Republik than you did based on the same research.

    Shiny graphs!

Let's get real here, the minute O'Toole say he's gonna replace carbon tax rebate with bus passes, he just handed the majority to Trudeau to do whatever he wants.

Those conversations are only slightly more legitimate than the "I'm moving to Canada if Trump gets in!" Or I'm moving to Saskatchewan if the NDP win!"

Which of course, almost nobody actually did. Your conversations with people probably have the best finances to back the decision, but why you and they haven't already done it is beyond my reasoning. It's not like there's been any indicators that we were ever going to go any other direction.

The problem isn’t that things are getting a little worse.

It’s that it’s gotten a little worse, every year, for years with no end in sight.

What’s amazing to me is that anyone considers Trudeau’s “plan” and policies to be good ones.

The downside is that the other country I could easily leave to since I have citizenship is arguably worse than Canada.

Don't disagree. Just disagree with people who say "I'll leave, maybe, in a few years.".
