Judging by the way people are driving these days our premiums are going to go up pretty fast.
I'm not sure how some can afford to drive. It's a privilege not a right and if you're the cause of many accidents, why are your premiums not unaffordable?
I remember when I was a kid, hearing some people not being able to afford to drive because of their bad driving.
    Now, that never happens.

    $102 back for me.

One of my friends back in the day got so many demerit points that his insurance was $500/mth. This was back in the 90s. He couldn't afford to drive after that lol.

When I first moved to Calgary in '96 that's what the payment would have been on my 18yo car. No tickets either. Sold my car and took the blue limo for a year until I could afford insurance again, lol.

The secret back then was to go with AMA. They had great rates for younger drivers.

Nice. My friend had a Ford Festiva, that probably was responsible for a cheaper premium.

Paying $6K/yr for a car that was $8K new. lol. I remember how pissed he was about that.

I went from a combined 20-25k/year across my vehicles to ~ 7k over the last year. But all my vehicles are rated for pleasure right now cause I WFH.
I went from like 50/60k down to less than 10k for sure...

I got a rebate, but I'll be blown away if my premium doesn't go up on renewal. Easy come, easy go.

Mine went down with no changes, even with the rebate.

I applied yesterday when I saw this thread and got confirmation this morning it was approved. Now just waiting for the Etransfer email.

A months refund would be nice. My renewal is on the 1st and is pretty much half the price, so one months refund = 2 months paid for next year!

I just use an insurance broker. They get me wherever I seem to be getting the best deal. I never have felt like I was overpaying with them compared to what others say they pay!
