I don't have a pension, so your argument doesn't make sense. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I don't think they get a free Nissan, so that still doesn't make sense. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Who doesn't know marth now?
So not sure if it’s due to the fee or not, but barrier lake was pretty dead yesterday. Pretty odd for a Saturday on a long weekend.
I guess it was extra hot at 32 and pretty smoky out there so maybe it’s not entirely due to the fee, but just overall pretty surprised. Has anyone else been out to kananaskis this year and noticed less people? Not complaining as it was really nice to get a prime parking spot almost immediately, just an observation.
I think your definition of dead is different then mine. It was a zoo when we drove by at 5 pm
I think the fee has definitely made a sizeable dent in the traffic.
Not nearly as much litter now.
I wonder if they hired any new COs yet lulz

The traffic control at the popular sites is welcomed as well. The intersection at Barrier Dam is hard to see when cars are parked all along the highway.
We hiked up to Lake Rae on Saturday, got there at 9AM and the parking lot was full and decent amount parked on the road. But with camping at a few spots along the trail the parking lot aspect is no surprise.
Parking attendants and volunteers were very friendly, the main trail on the way out was crazy busy in the afternoon.
Drove up from the south end of 40 and it was deadddddddd, only one car ahead of us a ways until we parked.
So I know the pass can't be transferred so once you register two plates thats all you get.
Assuming the COs run the plate against a database they can access to determine eligibility-can they also run the plate to determine expired registration or lack of insurance or outstanding warrants against the registered owner?
Well, purchased a day pass for the first time last weekend.
Super easy to do from the mobiluar phone as a passenger, lol. I saw someone mention a trailer on a previous post so figured I'd mention that when filling out the form it asked me both for the vehicle plate, as well as the trailer plate (we didn't have one so left it blank).
It was WAY less busy than I expected it to be out there, it was so nice!

I’d advise handling those things before you go for a hikeThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I'm not sure if the reduced visitors is from the fee, or that far more people are actually working this summer, vs last summer. Maybe just a combination of both.

Report from Barrier lake last Saturday was that it was smoky and windy and not super nice weather, and the parking lot was 100% full. I guess that's an improvement from last year where it would have been full plus 50+ cars parked down the ditch of the access road.
If I had outstanding warrants, I think I'd try really hard not to be driving places, as that's something they check when they pull you over. The Kananaskis system is basically ParkPlus, so yeah, they aren't running the drivers info for warrants.

I think your idea of registering an old plate would probably work (unless there’s any validation during the reg process which I doubt) but it’s kinda ghetto to be changing a plate around after you park. If you legit have 3 cars that you use to go then I suppose it’s “fair” but if you’re just doing it to share among 3+ households then dick move. Just my 2 cents.
