Ya know, I go back and forth on this. But if this keeps people out of k country. Maybe I can go again? That'd be nice.

I’d say they could start passing on the costs for SAR to the people that wind up using it. Nearly 500 calls for service can’t be cheap and knowing they’d be on the hook might stop some people from acting risky

In Alberta. Not just in K Country. Yet all of K Country paying for it.. (and how many of these are just replacing people they let go last year when they closed visitor centres, etc). COs get paid pennies for the amount of BS they have to deal with, they should have more everywhere on the eastern slopes. Fine the shit out of everyone to pay for the cost of them.
Those second graders need to learn about Charlemagne’s impact on early Middle Ages Europe otherwise they’ll fall behind. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
People will bitch about user fees, it’s in their nature. People are used to paying them for parks. The busiest parks in the country are user fee based. It’s been the basis of park management federally and in other provinces for decades.
This way of implementing user fees is just dumb and inefficient (even from the ‘hut dur all govt is inefficient’ lens of things). And if you like the ideas of user fees and hate the NDP you should also dislike it because it creates an easy political issue to run against and sets up what isn’t an inherently bad concept (user fees for provincial parks) to be recinded because the one that was implemented was flawed at conception and allowed itself to become easily politicized.
I would have hoped the wildlife would have weeded out the people that shouldn’t be visiting k-country... can we put the fees towards importing more cats and bears??
The other week I saw a woman strolling out of Bluerock in designer trench coat, jeans, and fucking high heels... like she just went for a casual walk down to the east village

Didn’t they mandate COs now have to respond to regular emergencies like other levels of law enforcement? Hiring more COs and we will probably have even less enforcement in the wilderness. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I'm not arguing that at all, but in the context of the argument that was provided the implication of paying for something you don't use turning to a user pay system thereby removing that burden from you, is just not an outcome in reality. So its just an argument for the sake of making an argument. That's all I was sayingThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
