My personal hatred goes back to a speech she gave to a room full of job seekers where she told us that we "had the skills of yesterday, and that's why Calgary has trouble building a technology economy." Pretty tone deaf, and unhelpful.

She's said more foolish things since in a variety of print and televised interviews but that was the root of it for me.

Tldr: she hurt my feelings.

Funny how none of her "many successes" were notable enough to make it into the article and her most well known achievement was her leave of absence for the failed Olympic bid. As much as we loathe that she's heading out retire comfortably on taxpayer time, don't blame the players, blame the game as it is what it is. If free money is being handed out people are always going to take it.
