It's been growing on me slowly but I still just don't like what they did with the rear end. I don't hate the arched rear but I think it's the combination of the weird vertical tail lights with random vents beside them that just makes it all too busy.

Efficiency wise though the Ioniq 6 is really a great car. Fastest charging on the market + more aerodynamic than the 5 so you get better highway mileage. Then you have 320hp / 450 ftlbs with AWD so it launches quickly.
I'm going to be really interested in how your 6 performs over this winter. Although it's a dickish wish, I hope you have to park outside in a really bad cold snap, just so you can report on how reliably it starts in such weather, who quickly it warms up with electric only heater, how the battery performs in such conditions compared to the summer/fall...etc. If I was going to buy in EV, this would be the one I think. Unlikely to ever happen, but you never know these days, and I truly would like some first hand experience info. So, be a pal, and when if it hits -40, pull your car out of the garage (assuming you have one, which I'll wager you do), and park it outside one evening, hah.

I have the 5 but I'll post some updates for sure. I don't expect any issues aside from a decrease in range which I don't think will matter as I only charge it once a week currently. I do park inside but guaranteed at some point I'll stay over somewhere and it'll be left outside and we'll see. Or I'll just leave it on the street for the sake of curiosity one night.

    My expectations:
Heat - will warm up faster as the electric heater is instant whereas an engine you have to wait for it to warm up. Plus with heated seats & steering wheel I have no concerns being cold. It'll just use up more electricity for heat is all.

Battery - It will use power to warm the battery, so less range but beyond that I don't expect it functionally any different. I'm guessing a ~30% drop in range which would put me around 420km in the city and 300km highway.

Grip - RWD will be fun in the snow and the car has 50/50 weight distribution plus the power delivery of electric motors is a lot smoother so I expect it'll handle quite good.

What I am concerned about - The motorized door handles. They pop out when you unlock it and disappear when you lock. I highly expect them to have issues if it gets super cold/icey but we'll see. You can manually just pull them out but I can see them getting iced over or some shit.

Ioniq is my top choice for an EV if I was forced right this second, so also curious. Volvo C40 is my second choice.

When I had my tesla, people would ask this all the time.... What do you mean by start? It's more akin to unlocking the screen on your phone as the car is never off. Everything else about the Tesla in the winter sucked especially the horrendously intrusive traction control. Range in the brutal cold is much worse as the car needs to warm the battery against the windchill fighting to cool it off. The faster you go, the more it needs to heat and the shorter the range gets.

Haven’t seen one of these in a while… more so curious as to what financial institution took this as collateral on a loan though (shows as repo)

In the comments, it states it's an estate sale, so maybe just mislabelled?

"* ESTATE SALE *WOKSHOP MANUAL IN OFFICE*"

Ah, that would make more sense… could still be the bank that took everything I guess?

If that's the only issue, and if that's the range decrease, then I think the 5 (that's the sedan one which you have, right, sorry I mistyped 6) is probably the best EV for me other there, if I ended up buying one for xyz reason.

I got the 5 which is the SUV. Wasn’t a fan of the 6, the rear of the car just isn’t it.

Maybe a turn in the market? Other than the colour this one is very tempting, and at a dealer. I hear they are even willing to negotiate on it... At a Dilwari dealer....

That price isn't too great. I paid stupid covid prices for my 2014 GX460, and I got mine for around 45k with 90k km on it. And mine is a higher spec than that one. If you could get that one for under list price (incl tax + fees) that might be okay, otherwise I'd say there's better deals to be had.

You know our perceptions of value have been skewed when a 10 year old SUV with 150k on it, "doesn't seem terrible" at ~50% of MSRP

Absolutely lol I think the issue is that lexus and Toyota I've seen in general have really sky rocketed, so this actually seems not bad haha

That's what I've heard they will take $32k all in. If it was blue, I'd be driving that.

Prices on any used 4x4 Toyota product or Landcruiser derivative is so inflated it's been comical.

I'm tempted to take the wife's Highlander Ltd into them and trade straight over. Do the rear seats fold flat on the GX? Asking incase I have to sleep there for a few days.

Stop thinking like a bmw owner. A Lexus with 150k on it isnt even halfway through its life. Theres a reason their engines are always class worst in terms of power and efficiency... thats how you get reliability
