People buy these things for the perceived brand reliability which isn't proven yet with this powertrain.
So you only buy 8 year old cars then?

The Sequoia hybrid platform is relatively new. But yes, I generally buy vehicles with 3-4 years of ownership brand history. I don’t like being the Guinea Pig when a manufacture releases new engine tech.

You mean the car companies won't absorb the increased labour costs and sacrfice profits?

@zechs just because you can't find MSRP deals, doesn't mean nobody is paying MSRP.

Everyone goes to Ryan for a reason. He doesn't rip you off.
When you say paying MSRP, is that prior to all the fees or inclusive of those fees?
For example the RAV4 Hybrid LE MSRP is $34,850 but after freight/delivery and dealer fees is $38,500 (+gst). Is it a reasonable target to be out the door for $35,000+gst or for $38,500+gst?

I'm also curious what the rough lead time for a hybrid rav4 is now? My dad wants one but doesn't want to pre-order and wait years for it. They're hoping to buy one next spring-fall.

Expect to pay 5k more when the dealer add ons actually get calculated.

What’s the anti theft fee for? That, the time/rim part, and the locking nuts seem like the only bs fees I’d fight to decline.

If the floor mats are weather tech then that’s roughly what they cost so not a bad deal. You can decline them if you want but they’re nice for the winter. I would price them out online and see if they’re marked up, been a while since I bought a set.

I think anti theft is the cover deductible or something like that, not totally sure as just second hand info. Floor mats, ya they’re comparable but they just added those in without even asking..

Anti-theft is probably the security etching and stickers they push on you. Pays out what you paid for the car +$1000, if the car is stolen and not recovered in 30 days. I just bought a new 2024 CX-50 and this was also first on their upsale list. The tire/rim/key upsell sounds like the tire and fob replacement insurance that Mazda also offered, apparently good for any brand of wheel or tire that’s installed on the vehicle. (One per year)

$488 block heater lol. You're better off with a battery blanket and oil pan heater, probably still cheaper combined.
