Sony LCD black screen

My mom's Sony lcd has suddenly turned black. There is sound but no picture. When she turns on the tv the Sony symbol comes on for a second upon power up.

Is the tv dead? Anyway to do troubleshoot?

If it's more than 5 years old just replace it

Backlights still working? If so, then it's probably an issue with the t-con board.

Check all the inputs are plugged in correctly

I tried unplugging it from power and doing some reset procedure but didn't help. New tv it is��

Yeah this happened to my TV a while back; power surge caused something to fry up something so it was a dump.

Try a different HDMI cable

My boxing day 2020 tv has been doing occasional blank screen but 15 seconds unplugged has always fixed it so far. Wonder if I have a warranty for that stupid thing.
