    Default Scallops

So where is everyone getting their scallops? I got some from one of those travelling meat men and they were very good, however very expensive per weight. Costco scallops are a bit too small. Is there a better option? Or just suck it up and pay the 3x cost for the travelling meat man.

Costco has both bay and sea scallops, as far as frozen seafood goes... can’t complain. Good pan sear is the key to a tasty scallop anyways

I would exhaust a lot of options before I felt I had to "suck it up and pay the 3x cost for the travelling meat man."

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

    https://www.greatmeats.ca/product-pa...mbo-10-20-1-lb

I haven't bought the scallops from them however we did buy some beef and lamb from them.
I will be picking up some scallops from them when I go over there next time.

Have you tried a real seafood store like city fish, Northsea or Billingsgate?

Costco sells some pretty good sized in the frozen section. Pelican Pier also sells fresh seafood - good fish n chips too!

    I'll join their camp.
Scallops are miniature hockey pucks with slightly more flavour.

You'd think, but no. I've never bought them. I predominantly will not eat seafood unless I'm sitting next to the water the thing came out of. *Predominantly.
I have eaten them at fancy restaurants touching the water they were harvested from, and "meh". They're fine, but they are not a great treat for me and at that price, there are other things I prefer.
I guess I'm lucky that they don't ring my bell!

Thanks for all the suggestions, I think I'll swing by city fish at lunch today and get a big bag. As said, the costco ones are too small and just not worth getting, I've tried all of their offerings.

I'm with Brent, definitely way overcooked. Scallops are amazing and actually one of my favorite nigiri or sashimi. The only bad way to cook a scallop is too much.

Be conscious of where they come from. You wanna avoid exposure to BMAA as much as possible, lots of evidence that BMAA bioaccumulation in seafood is linked to neurodegenerative disease.
