Amerispec phoned me back and booked in the evaluation for next week. I had called and left a message as soon as the program made me repick a new company. They got my name slightly wrong calling back so I'm fairly sure they called because of my voice message and not my enrollment.

Either way, happy to get it done to start some work this summer.

Got my email back from Amerispec... Are companies just scamming this process now? They say $600 will be reimbursed for the inspection, but of course their initial inspection is $450 then they have a 2nd inspection for $250, conveniently adding up to $700... Are they just going to try to replace my windows or insulation? I was hoping to update my electrical system with UPS and/or prep for solar panels

I used Amerispec and had good luck. And then the government announced they'd lend me the money to do the windows for 10 years interest free. The loan process is just as slow as the evaluation process. Fuck the government. Instead of giving me a $5K subsidy and making 'work' for a bunch of government rejects they could have given me $10k and simplified the whole process.
