Do it twice to be sure, but don't drain it onto your lawn.

Also, if it's never been done before, there's a good chance a lot of scale will break off all the pipes and you'll get a ton of calcium floaters that can take months to get rid of.

    Buy one of these https://www.amazon.ca/FLUENTPOWER-Su...2s9dHJ1ZQ&th=1

THen you can drain and refill in no time. I usually drain mine with a garden hose down the kitchen sink.

How long does something like that take to suck out? 7 person tub, i think its 400 gallons. NVM i just saw it said 3300GPH, thats fucking fast.

Yah don’t let anyone catch you draining like that. It doesn’t take long to suck it out.

only thing that will kill your grass is a crazy low PH or a crazy high sanitizer. Otherwise drain Into the yard no problem.

I have a 5 person tub (1000ish L) and my pump drains it into the sink in 20 mins.
Buy a 50' flexible hose and away you go.

Wait what other kind of hose would you use?

I used the cleaner stuff let it run over night, emptied cleaned the tub out and it’s been clean ever since. It was gross as fuck though so much floating and sinky stuff came out.

I used a stupid shitty old garden hose. Sucks ass to un roll in the winter.

Edit: My bad, my original statement was very vague lol.
Use one of those fabric, never kink hoses as they aren't absolutely god awful to deal with in the winter.

I drain mine into the alley, always have. I do it via a pump from scrappy tire that i paid $50 for that drains it down to a 1/4" and shopvac the rest.

A tip for cleaning if you have a lot of scale or mildew is to flush the pipes when its empty. Suck the water out with a shop vac. Depending on how your plumbing is, you can potentially put clean water in one and suck out through another making it more effective. That will minimize the residual floaters when you fill it and fire it up for the first time.

So suck and blow when the tank is near empty? Sounds like health advice.

The cleaner we're talking about is crazy high sanitizer, and trust me it will kill grass and plants.

Not legal at all. Fuck you can't even wash a car in the driveway anymore with soap.

HT is like RE, its always a good time
According to the place I got mine from, this time is normally their slowest. They said most people are buying their tubs in spring or summer because it makes doing the base way easier and most want it before winter. Add in the CC bills from xmas thats gotta slow things down.

Jacuzzi is a nice one and thats what I had it narrowed down too. Just checked and the J-385 was 18,500 in 2022 and now its 21k, they weren't willing to negotiate back then but did have a promo where they gave you a small amount(around 1000) off if you paid cash or 36months 0% finance i think.

Which was awesome. I sold my 9 year old tub for 80% of what I bought it for.

Go RIGHT NOW to the Jacuzzi dealer and other places. Write down prices. The home show is on Feb 5. Go there, compare prices. All the dealers will be there.
