Don't worry though, for those that need the extra manliness, I'm sure aftermarket extra long tow mirrors will be available. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

My list of random For Sale (some free) stuff
That is a really little truck....finally something I can handle in the city
This kills the santa cruz though in many ways.
depends on the application. The Hyundai actually can tow 5k lbs, while the max tow version of the Maverick can only tow 4k lbs. I wouldn't have thought Ford would let a direct competition import beat it by 20% towing capacity... So while the Maverick can technically haul more, the Santa Cruz can tow more. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Yes, but Ford sells a Ranger, and Hyundai does not.

I can see a lot of guys planning to buy a new 700hp+ Raptor R, but then settling for the Maverick to haul their bikes.........
Well played Ford, this demographic does exist.
I like neat cars.
To be honest, if they made a microtruck just so I can haul bikes, I'd buy it. Give me Fit fuel economy as well.
I would drive the shit out of a new El Camino or Ranchero. I even was in talks for Holden Ute back in ~2015 before my cheap TLX lease, but couldn't find anything I really wanted. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

But do you trust the DCT to survive in the long run? At least Ford slap in a traditional auto for the higher tow rating. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Interesting.
So my wife's 2012 Grand Caravan has a 1580lb payload, and 3640lb towing capacity, nearly identical to this truck's upper end. The van can fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood flat in the back, with the door closed. In this truck it would be hanging 3.5' out the back. The v6 in the van has basically the same specs as the turbo-4 on this truck, although the turbo-4 will have better mileage. But that's expected for a 10 year newer motor.
I mean I also kinda like this truck, but upon more reflection, I'm still stuck as to why.
It's basically an open-air, 10yo minivan, without the sliding doors.
But it’s not a minivan. That opens it up to a lot more customers.

Is the Mav RWD with 4WD? That's also another selling point for a lot of people.
