    Nah, Hydropower comes from NDP/Liberal/Green provinces so they're brainwashed to think it's a friendly renewable source of energy that shouldn't be considered in the calculation of equalization payments.

    Will be interesting if we keep seeing higher annual temperatures, which will mean more airconditioning, plus more EV cars. Our infrastructure is going to need 1.21 gigawatts more capacity soon enough.

    Four years to build.

    The problem with carbon based is that you have to have burn a ridonkulous amount. Having that much flammable material in one area is risk in itself. Same with nuclear, you don't have a ton of material but you have a lot of explosive potential.

    Hydro is just watching the water fall. If something goes wrong with the generators, either shut the intake or shunt it to an overflow. Neither of which will blow up the plant.
