    Default 26x27 garage build.

Figured people like to see builds and the progress. Also, may be used as reference for someone in the future.

    Some information to get started.
Garage will be 26 ft wide, 27 ft deep. Trusses will span the long way and be scissor style to hopefully aid in a future 4 point lift. A 6 ft section over my work area will be storage truss. Garage is built about 4 inches off the property line to maximize what's left of the yard.

Slab prep is under way and will be completed for a pour tomorrow am.

**what size pictures can be uploaded? They don't seem to upload straight off my phone?**

Yes. Props. What a manly home garage size. Also a trench drain with proper catch basin? (Pic too small to view in my phone to see clearly)

Yep. Trench drain with catch basin. Its apparently better than the typical residential drain. Its pretty nice and beefy. First thing I said when they laid it out, "should'a went 28' wide" hahaha. I lobbied the wife pretty hard for 32 wide, but got vetoed. We have 2 small kids, so I get it

Walls are max the city allows without a DP. 15' to peak, 9' wall on a 12" curb wall. Or something like that

picked up a 45k Reznor and a Lifebreath HRV to be installed. If anyone has a buddy who wants to install either of them, let me know. I will add the gas line to the garage for the heater.

Curb wall/pony wall....same/same. 12". Wanted to do 16", but the cost was substantial to add the extra 4" also, wanted to make the man door oversized. 36" is standard and to goto a 42" door it was an extra $1000. That was a tough one to say no to, but figured it wasn't worth it. I might regret it, but hope not.

Not sure if it's true or not, but the guy that built mine said that they measure that 15'(16' here in Airdrie), from the highest point in your yard.
Also I'm guessing you went/are going side mount opener? I'm not sure I'd recommend the Chamberlain/Liftmaster RJO20C. Maybe its cause I oversized my door but I haven't been impressed with it. Door is correctly balanced too AFAIK, able to move it by hand without much effort.

Our yard is very flat, so that shouldn't matter too much. Didn't know that though. It will be a side mount opener, not sure what was spec'd out. I'll check. Liftmaster rings a bell, but will look

Issues I've had are that the antenna range on the opener is terrible(basically have about 20-30ft worth of range) and the remote light has a mind of it's own(works for a little bit, then completely ignores the wall control and sometimes even turns on by itself).

I have precisely all of these issues with an older model, same style.

Sidemount openers are a god send for large doors and wanting to keep room space and roof space open as much as possible.

How much did the slab and pony walls cost? Are concrete prices crazy now as well?

I believe Concrete Innovations does this. See here for more details: https://www.radgarage.ca/drainage.html

You can get floor drains tied to sanitary if your garage is attached. Source: have 2 in my garage.

Technically you could do the same in a detached garage and bring it back into your basement and then tie into sanitary.

I got them to send me a new light under warranty but I don't have alot of hope for it, will probably just install a smart switch for my main lights and use some programming to get them to turn on when the door is activated.
