Default Tire Fit Question: Will 2011 Acura MDX fit onto 2016 Highlander?

Our 2011 MDX was written off, but I still have the summer wheels/tires from it, they only have 1 season of use on them.

Wondering if they'd fit onto new vehicle, 2016 Toyota Highlander.

    Acura
    Tires: 255/55R18
    Bolt Pattern: 5x120, 64.1mm hub

    Toyota: 245/60R18
    Bolt Pattern: 5x114.3, 60.1mm hub

Can an adapter be used to make the bolt pattern variance work?

Would the slight difference in tire dimensions have any negative affects on vehicle? Aside from speedo being out a bit.

I don't think there is an adapter for that tiny bolt circle variance. If there is, I suspect it will increase your offset a lot and the vehicle will drive differently. You'd also apparently want hub centering rings.

More importantly, you need to check the speed & load rating. I suspect the MDX will be greater than the Highlander, so you're likely fine.

Not worth the hassle or the added cost of the adapters. Sell them and buy the right stuff for your vehicle.

You can always make something work if you throw enough money at it but in this situation it would be a waste of money and time for a completely Mickey Mouse setup. Sell them and take that money and buy what works.

This, and what almost everyone else is saying.

Trying to make it work is what I'd expect someone who pours Blue Label JW into a plastic bottle for transport.

I try and be a little kinder than that about it haha!

Really the whole adapter thing is more about making specialty fitments work like guys who want to run OEM Porsche wheels on a VW where the offset change works, or on a jacked up truck where they want to push stuff out to fill flairs. In cases like that it makes sense to spend the money to get the style you are trying to achieve, however the case of the OP is opening up a world of issues with offsets being seriously messed up and will probably hit all over the place and all the fixes needed to fix that combined with the cost of the adapters just don't make it viable. I can understand the thought of thinking it may be a way to save money, but in the end it won't at all.
