Pulley is spinning but clutch wont engage.
Sucks when its +30 outside.
How much will this cost me ? can it be done on the truck to avoid having to evacuate and refill the system ?

Some basic tools and the clutch comes off pretty easy. The harder part is tracking down the clutch. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Also clutch plate is a wear item and if there is too much gap it won't grab properly. If you take off the clutch plate there is usually shims you can pull out.
Service manual may have a air gap spec.
Are you sure the clutch is being energized? If it’s out of refrigerant it won’t get a signal to lock. The only time I’ve seen an a/c clutch be the actual problem it tried to catch fire and the noise was unmistakable.
I Had the system pressure tested and repaired last year.
I'm going to manually engage it this weekend to confirm operation. After that I'll look to get it pressure tested again.
