I got my notification for the 512 gb just before lunch. $40 import fee was the only adder. Hopefully it doesn't take too long to get here.

Got my confirmation today: $854.25 + $5.70 deposit. Paid for with TF2 cases, hehe.

Kind of hoping it arrives on monday, to completely avoid freezing temperatures - but at least is not -35.

Not shipping for me yet. Might go for a year on EA play after finishing up the backlog, don't need anymore "bought" games.

Going through forced update, and will install Aperture desk job first just to make sure all the buttons are working.

GTA V took a little bit of effort to get the Rockstar launcher working.

1280x800 with most settings at high, 16xAF, and screen almost set to brightest and its only using 10.5 watts and so far 60 fps. Not bad at all.

Already tried to order up another one.

Big OS update. GTA V settings at very high, 16xAF, and normal tessellation, 11.5 watts and 60 fps. Absolutely crazy.

Can't wait for some games to get FSR 2.0 so that I can punch out to 4K.

Made it through entire GTA V playthrough with zero graphical crashes (with 200 car dings and nine or so full on head to head collisions). Two thumbs up.

I didn't even think if trying GTA. Will have to give it a go for the story mode again.

I tried jurassic world evolution 2 but those kind of games don't work too well on a gamepad. Farming simulator works excellently though

Been using Steam Deck as main computer for a week:

    Using Dockteck DD0025:

Does not quite maintain full charge all the time, even with "100 watt" passthrough. With the included 45 watt USB-C brick, will slowly drain to 90% over the week, and then charge up overnight back to 100% once. Atypical charging behavior, but I can imagine done on purpose.

Some games absolutely play at 3840x2160 at close to 60fps, Orcs Must Die 2 looks great. 4k60 Youtube decodes without spinning up the fan only when using Chrome. Firefox does not have the power optimizations yet. HTPC use is two thumbs up.

No printer support at all. Have not figured out how to print to a network printer, although I might just assign a lesser computer to that duty. There is no point to even putting into sleep mode overnight. Deck uses so little power, just leave it on always.

Additional: In theory, the Deck should support 8k60 and 4K120, although finding a powered USB dock that effectively uses it and still stays within 15 watts or so is pretty much impossible as of now.

Getting serious about finally pulling the trigger on a Deck. Thinking the 256GB model.

Got serious enough to get a 256GB model.

Now FedEx has it somewhere. Thought it would have made the plane from Memphis to Calgary this morning as it was in Memphis yesterday afternoon no dice.

Official steam dock now available, but too rich for my likes at $120 CAD.

Cablecreations or Dockteck work just fine. Some have USB-C 5gbps too. I'd only consider the official dock if you need to connect two monitors.

On a side note: All in on Violet Vermin Case @ 20 cents.
