Default Anyone have a 40' stick to poke an empty bird's nest?

Empty nest the siding of my home but everyone I called said it was too high to safely remove and quoted me for rental lift or scaffolding to do the job. Seems silly...

I want to remove it until some other birds decide to use it and lay eggs in it or something.

Anyone have a 40' stick laying around I can use to poke stuff with?

Initially a hot stick comes to mind as they can be quite long, but don't know of any utility workers willing to help haha.

Pull out your long garden hose with a spray attachment

Why not use a ladder plus a stick then you only need a shorter stick haha

I have an extension ladder you can borrow.

I used to rip 2x4s in half and then attached them together with screws but I don't think I got to 40'. That was to put a propane torch to tent caterpillars to hasten their development cycle.

Are you sure it's actually 40'? That's so high.

You could treat yourself to a window wash and I bet they'll take care of it for you. We Wash Windows is psycho cheap. Like $100-$150 for all your exterior windows.

Is your house five stories? Short ladder and 20' stick and you'll make it.

Okay okay I will rephrase. I could put up a ladder (I have a 21' ladder) and use a shorter stick. It is on a slope so probably cannot maximize the full 21'.
And the height is probably closer to 35' maybe? All the photos I took, all the pest/bird control folk said no lol.

I think I will still need a 20' stick at least.

Just wondered if anyone had anything before go about making one, lol!

Maybe attach small stick to drone and try to spear the nest?

Throw your excess stock of premium quality, artisanal smokies at it until you break it up.

Can I just borrow some of your Blue Menu ones since I'll be doing you a favor by using them for a greater purpose?

No. Too valuable. Went on sale and I had to buy a freezer to store the deals. Cut open packages so I could freeze them all in one block.

I have a telescopic pole you can borrow, I use it for removing the nests every year. My neighbors have the same pole as well since it is an annual event to remove the nests haha

I usually attach my hose to it so I can clean up some of the mud from the nests as well.

It's tough when you can't make it to the top 5%.

    I wouldn't touch that nest with a 40ft pole.

Just came here to say that.

    Chimney sweep may work.
