Default Any way to forward calls or texts from one number to another?

    Hey everyone

I'm going to go abroad for a while, but my Canadian ph# is attached to many 2FA systems.

Is there a way for me to receive confirmation call or text forwarded to me, either on comp or international number?

I can't afford the ridiculous roaming fees from Telus lol

    Thanks in advance!

Leave your phone plugged in somewhere here in Canada. Assuming you are still paying your plan fee here.

For iPhone - Just sync your messages to iCloud so you can see texts on another Apple device i.e. iPad.
    For Android - https://support.google.com/messages/.../7611075?hl=en

I thought incoming SMS text is free while roaming. Only outgoing SMS costs money. If so, you can just turn off data and leave the phone on roaming to the local network to receive text?

Ya you have to leave phone on the whole time. It’s under settings -> messages.

Incoming sms is usually free abroad (check with your provider) but I find it to be horribly unreliable overseas.

    ^this.

I would also try to setup an authenticator app as your primary MFA over SMS anyway. More secure and don't have to rely on cell coverage if you only have WiFi available.

Definitely go this route if you can. Then you can still work anywhere there is wifi.

I'm sure this doesn't apply to anyone here, but you can't collect EI while you are out of the country......

Don’t worry man. It’s CERB. It’s just free government money no strings attached.

    Completely different.

LoL no no this isn't for EI.

I'm more concerned about CRA login, it's always a pain in the ass. When I refer to service canada, i mean all the gov't sites.

Not only CRA though, even my bank uses text message confirmation. -_-
