Yes. The number of beyond ballers that can take advantage of it is miniscule.
    FTFY

< $180k household and 2 parents with full time jobs is a pretty sizeable chunk of the population with kids

I thought I read initially that no matter your household income, you were still eligible for a base level benefit? But it was only incomes under $1xx,xxx/yr that got the full 10$/day deal.

Fortunately my wife, despite being the primary caregiver as a stay at home parent, still feels she needs to contribute financially. But she also doesn't want to do daycare. So she is moving towards a home based business that she can manage wit the kid at home. Every little bit helps.

There are so many layers to the current federal and provincial childcare subsidies it’s not surprising no one knows how they work.

I prefer the Asian childcare method where the child also gains valuable work experience.

Max_boost runs a daycare of that type. He needs someone to wipe tables.

$180k but it’s a sliding scale to $120k. For preschool it’s a flat $125 subsidy for any household under $180k.

    For a service upgrade?

    Homeowners are not permitted to:

install, alter or modify the main electrical service, including the main panel, main breaker or the meter base.
install electrical wiring in permanent, in-ground swimming pools and hot tubs
install or alter solar photovoltaic systems

The benefit you're talking about has been around in one form or another for eons now.

Daycares are credited a specific amount ($450-ish) per kid, regardless of household income or how many parents are working. This is new.

My wife and I both work and we drive a Trackhawk so clearly we’re ballers and our child care is now subsidized. We don’t get money back, we just pay less per kid.

Our daycare applies it automatically, no questions about household income.

My wife was working PT just to get mat leave hours up for next impending kid, the subsidy helped out a bit forsure but i wouldnt call it a game changer

Went to daycare for most of elementary and it helped build social skills for sure. Most of my schoolmates and close friends ended up being from there.

Team sports, in my opinion, are far better for building social skills and general awareness of what it means to work with people relative to daycare.

Either way, it's not going to change introverts to extroverts but certainly improves on those individuals that are socially retarded naturally from their parents.

I don't agree daycare is a bad thing. Ideally, children will get all their questions answered and personal adult attention at all times, but that's just not the world we live in. In order to maintain the lifestyle most of us have grown accustomed to, it's common to have both parents working. At least the kids get social interaction.

And let's not assume all parents know or care what the hell they are doing. Being in a difference scenario might be a GOOD thing for some kids.

I don't think its a bad thing. Kids across all of humanities history have been piled into big groups and looked after by a few people. We do a few days at daycare, a day with grandma, and a few days the wife stays home and spends the day with the kid.

Really balances out to what the wife wants in my opinion.

I do find it a slight bit strange when women have kids and WANT to send them 5 days a week to daycare as soon as a year is up, or even so they can get back to work. But I understand for some peoples jobs a few days a week isnt an option so it's an all or nothing thing unfortunately.

But like I said to each their own, have to find what works for you.
