We had a live-out nanny for a few years. It was spectacular! We miss her incredibly and still keep in touch.
We paid her substantially more than the going rate and she was a fucking miracle. I wish we could've moved her with us.
She loved our kids so much that when we had to move, she quit being a nanny and moved onto something else. And if she has a stumble in her new path, we will be there to financially support her. We still give her a chunk of money every Christmas to help her and her kids out because she's a legend.

Man... Single tear... I miss that.

I had one amazing nanny, one mediocre. Each cost me about a Honda accord per year.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

Weird that capping prices reduces supply. Who could have seen that coming?

Where's Kert to tell us about the hidden benefits of nobody being able to access any of this government funded child care?

This program was always going to be fatal for daycare providers.

    Promise everyone $10 daycare.

Only provide so much funding because government can’t Marth.

Don’t worry though. I’m sure government will come to the rescue by centralizing it all and lowering the standard of care so dramatically everyone can afford it. Comrade.

The Alberta government identified the problem, so why isn’t the province making its own childcare program like Quebec so it doesn’t need to be subject to the federal governments unfair restrictions on providing what the people clearly and overwhelmingly want? An easy layup and they somehow get an air ball.

On the bright side the acceptance of subsidized childcare to such an extent that this kind of outrage exists is a great step for progressivism both in the province and the country. So that’s a plus.

Yeah it's wonderful that the government has wrecked families financially so bad that they are "happy" to be bribed with their own money towards daycare reimbursement, since they've been forced into a situation where 2 incomes is a requirement just to get by.
