Default are all wipers created equal?

i realize that the 7 dollar wipers arent as good as the 30 dollar bosch ones but the teflon motomaster wipers i bought i find dont fit quite right and dont stay with the curve of the windshield in teh down position...arm my wiper arm springs fuxed or are they still shitty wipers?

I haven't found an aftermarket wiper that I've been happy with yet. What I have been doing is re-using my stockers and replacing just the rubber blade. Its pretty cheap too if you don't mind a little extra work and you get the same performance you would get from the stockers without having to buy them at the usuallly rediculous dealer markup prices.

Some OEM wipers are curved to match the leading contours of the windshield. The ones you bought from crappy tire are straight, that might be your problem. BTW i bought them 7 dollar teflon wipers for my pathy a month ago....now theyre starting to streak like a mofo!

9 times out of 10 wiper performance is based on how clean they are.

A big factor is when you "wax" you car in the car wash. That wax sticks to the windshield and causes streaking.

Get a bottle of alcohol and clean your blades with a cloth or paper towels. You will be surprised at how dirty they actually are.

my problem is that they arent staying contoured to the windshield, im just lucky that when its wiping it forces the arm into a harder angle against the windshield and it keeps most of it clean but it just doesnt cover the entire wiping area, that and the fact that my driver side one flaps around at most speeds...

If you put new springs on, it will push your wiper onto your windshield... Usually winter kills your springs.

I like using oem blade replacement. Not expensive, and you know they fit.
But as mentioned about, maintanence on the blade itself is a big factor.

And I would also recommend using RainX. You practically don't need to use wipers when it rains.

Hmmm, that's strange..I know a lot of OEM wipers have more pivot points to contour to the window..but the OEM wipers for my car are plastic as opposed to metal...absolutely garbage.

    I'll stick to my Bosch

I found out that only OEM work for BMW.... I ran from shop to shop trying to find replacements (my stockers r leaving rubber lines on the glass) and everyone doesnt have the right size, or the arm is too fat..
