And here I thought Acura was just a scam to trick North Americans into buying Japanese cars but portending they were domestics lol.

The 'value " is always best on the lowest priced version of a car. But mechanical differences like AWD are worth something.

Always loved the look of the 2018-2020 TLX A-Specs, just too bad they didn't offer it in the manual like with previous gens.
Coming from the old days of driving a 2004 White Acura TSX, had I not settled in with Lexus because of my wife's requirements, I would be all over the TLX Type-SThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Hahaha those are the ultimate tanks no doubt. Couldn't stomach twice the price for twice the mileage on em at this point !This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I have to say while I personally wouldn't buy one, my very good friend has a 2014 TLX an it looks awesome, drives awesome, is super comfortable inside, I love the white on dark brown interior and has been pretty reliable for him. Its a good car.
I'd still drive an out of warranty 2014 M5 over it though lol, but I'm dumb so don't mind me.
I really like the Type S..... like enough that I could see that being my next car.
Cos...
Pricing Announced. $55,600 MSRP. With Freight and PDI - $58,195

Man I just don't think I could spend that much money on an FWD car. It seems like way too much for what's essentially a Civic at its core. You won't be able to put the power down for 8 months of the year in Calgary. As a former owner of a Focus ST I know this well.

$55.6k is a steal for us given the USA MSRP is $51k.
There was no way this was gonna be over $60k with the TLX-S there, but I honestly thought Honda would squeeze it as close as possible though. Welcome surprise at least.
If cheap Acura leases or year end "please buy a sedan, we're begging you" deals were still a thing, I'd be very, very tempted.

fuck this car
Tap, Rack, BANG!
It was a surprisingly decent looking car in real life. I've been one of the biggest critics from the catalogue pictures, but this was far far better than I anticipated.
Still not interested, but it's something I could totally see someone wanting.

The press embargo was lifted yesterday on the Integra Type-S. After watching videos by SavageGeese and TheStraightPipes, I find myself thinking I might want one now.
At least if I had to replace my Golf R (daily driver) in the near future, I think I'd prefer one over a mk8 Golf.
The only niggles I caught were after watching a third review video (by Redline Reviews), I noticed the back seat area has no HVAC vents or controls, no center armrest, no passthrough to the trunk area, and the roofline limits headroom a bit. These issues were not captured in the other videos I saw, but they also might be carry-overs from the lower trims.
Just like the CTR, it's getting wide (and probably well-earned praise). Also just like the CTR, it's fwd and will be utter crap to drive for 7 months/yr in our climate.
