I would say the number of ridings where the liberals win and the margin of victory over the CPC is less than the total of PPC votes is going to be basically zero. Same as seats won by PPC, going to be zero.
    Remember, popular vote is meaningless.

I like how cbc runs the headling "trudeau says " I am a proud quebecer" as their debate coverage. Or how the media grills o'toole on being "deceptive" with language on assault firearms when it was the liberals with their order in council that literally invented a new terminology for firearms. I really hope the turd gets turfed during this election.
Hasn't the CPC already changed their stance on the firearm ban from outright repeal to just limiting the kinds that are banned?

I agree seats won by PPC will be zero, but not about margin of victory not being enough to decide liberal vs cpc being zero seats. Even last election in 2019 analysis showed that ppc cost CPC some seats (see the new brunswick miramachi riding in below link). And that was with them being brand new. With 7% popular vote support across Canada I have a hunch it will cost them more seats this time around

Buncha right-wing nutjobs. It'll be pretty ironic if the PPC vote is why the Liberals take control instead of the CPC.

    From their platform page:
If that's as "right wing nut job" as they get, I'll fucking vote for them! LoL!
I suspect their stance on immigrants, immigration, homosexuals and abortion is a little more RW.

O'toole just flip flopped in order to prevent the issue from being attacked by the libs. Im sure if he gets elected , and if its a majority, the review will decide to unban those firearms since the justification that was used was comical. The gov't has licenced those firearms for sporting purposes for 30 years and all of a sudden there is no "reasonable use" ?? I mean come on. Its ridiculars. I think that is why the crown is claiming cabinet privelege in the appeals because they are very aware there is no justification for the ban and that the poly gun ban wingnuts had a hand in drafting that policy. It makes it super ironic for old billy drunko to start crying about the conservatives making an "unholy" deal with the firearms lobby when it was actually bill blair who made the deal with poly

    Was listening on radio.
Anyone hear a blatant "ah shit" from a student asking questions?
Did it make tv or was it censored?

I’m not sure what would possess people to spend their free time listening to that group of people argue for an hour.

The PC’s are running in this election? What decade is this?

Is that what it’s like to “be informed”?

The televised debates is a terrible way to "get informed" on anything. Only thing worse would be reading facebook posts. Try reading the party platforms, front to back, if you want to learn something new and you think there's a chance you might not know who you are going to vote for.

Because your top 40 favourites or classic rock stations suck worse.

If you want to be informed don't waste your time on researching the candidates.

Find out who their major donors are and what their interests are.

    Politicians are puppets.

lol, just started watching and the first questions:

    NDP:
    Q. Explain how you're going to pay for your platform?
    A. Tax the billionaires. Close the tax loopholes for billionaires.

    Liberals
    Q. Mr. Trudeau, please explain why you called an election now?
    A. Poetic prepared statements. Doesn't answer question at all.

    Quebecois
    Q. Why are you Frenchies so racist towards minorities when you are a minority?
    A. Blah blah blah life Quebec is independent and we can do whatever the hell we want.

    Green Party
    Q. If your party doesn't support you, why would Canadians trust you?
    A. I'm honoured to be on the unseated territories of Algonquin peoples. Life is tough, I'm persevering, I'm black, vote for our Candidates.

    Conservatives
    Q. How can Canadians trust you're the leader and not your caucus?
    A. I'm a Liberal in a Blue Suit and yes, I'm driving the bus.

I'll just keep my summary going:

    30 Minutes in...

Trudeau hasn't been able to defend anything (or even answer a question) so far. Totally losing the debate to O'Toole and Singh.

Singh completely avoided the question on how to approach China and somehow tried to deflect it to long-term care? O'Toole did much better on that question.

Singh has been the best salesman for all people who won't consider the costs of it all. If I had a choice between him and Trudeau, I'd take Jagmeet 100% of the time.

Blanchet doesn't pull punches at all. I actually kind of like him even if he is a bit of a crazy arse Frenchie.

Green Party needs to be sent back down to the minor leagues.

    60 Minutes in...

Trudeau attacking CPC on reverting to Paris Targets. O'Toole rebuking that Trudeau hasn't set any targets himself. Trudeau claiming he has epic reduction targets for 2030. Everyone pointing out Trudeau hasn't achieved any reductions in 6 years and Trudeau just trying to speak over everyone saying why his "plan" is so great.

    [All candidates argue like preschoolers]

NDP have a surprisingly weak response on climate. They repeat the same old "need to reduce" "it's an emergency" but can't seem to put forward any sort of actual plan other than spending more money to 'green our economy'.

[Native student Merik drops an "oh shit" while asking question on National TV - becomes legend in my book]

    90 Minutes in...

Journalist questions are direct attacks on Trudeau's record on indigenous spending/improvements. He replies like a child where it's obvious he knows what he's done but thinks he can lie his way out of it.

Trudeau responding to questions about Seniors working "You shouldn't have had to work". Seems like the NDP platform summed up. Just spend all you have without any consideration of the consequences...

    120 Minutes in...

Blanchet wants questions specific to Quebec. No surprise. Ugh.

Cost of Living. Trudeau attacks Conservatives like crazy rather than putting forward any sort of response.

Ethan Herman from Saskatoon reminds me of Ken Bone, the red sweater guy from the American election debates.

Trudeau says that he would put his Mom in long-term care one day. All candidates miss the opportunity to point out that Margaret Trudeau received $250k by appearing at WE Charity events and can obviously afford personalized care.

Singh repeats for the tenth time that "We are the only ones on this stage with a credible plan" without putting forward an actual plan.

Trudeau doesn't seem to even acknowledge the words "balanced budget".

Green Party dodges question about mandatory vaccination. Perhaps surprising but obviously recognizing their voter base are anti-vax hippies.

O'Toole dances around any questions about healthcare.

    Summary:

O'Toole's worst enemy in this election is his caucus since people won't believe his otherwise very progressive and reasonable platform.

Singh would be a great used car salesman to people buying a business car with their company's money. He should be able to get votes from those dumb enough to vote for Trudeau.

Either Trudeau is done or Canadians are hopeless.

Green Party and BQ serve no purpose in English language debates other than comedic relief.
