The money always knows. But its rare that they act upon it unless they know the game is up.

Maybe Afghanistan would be better off under full Mao communism.

"Women hold up half the sky" - Mao Zedong. As much as there were bad parts with communism it did bring China out of women foot-binding to something a lot closer to equality.

The entirety of the Kabul local police force might not make it to the end of the month. Didn't even have to pledge allegiance to the USA, just a really bad career choice and timing.

Globally speaking, its a horrible time to be a police officer.

If the troops left a chemical taint before leaving... Idiots on a grand scale. Any US citizens left behind will probably be forced by the Taliban to "turn the engine" on said equipment, maybe sleep beside it for a few days. Indiana Jones and the last Crusade: You always send in the disposable (troops left behind) to flip the switches and lick the steering wheels.

Warning: Extreme violence. Extreme violence. Veterans coming off Afghanistan 71,000 civilian deaths 75,000 military targetted deaths - is already creating problems. When you see civilians as expendable to a larger goal.
