Does Lexus have a fancy highlander rebadge?
RX350 is the closest. Same engine and transmission as well I believe. Same "Toyota K" platform for Camry, Highlander, RX350, Venza, etc.

I think the L version is closest.

The Highlander in platinum trim is pretty nice but I'm bias

Can move around in 360 view to get an idea, dunno why they went with the caramel brown interior, black is much cleaner looking with the grey wood accent.

    Infiniti QX80.?
Lexus GX or a Cadillac XT6..?

I was browsing this site. It has a list of 7 seater SUVS you could peruse over.

    https://www.germaincars.com/10-best-7-passenger-suvs/
Caddy XT-6 or MDX gets my vote.

The XT-6 has great 24 month leases if you trade cars like under-ware.

It leaves a little to be desired in the fit and finish category but if you can overlook that it's a solid option.

Planning on trading in my AT4 for a XT-6. Prefer the truck but it's a pain to park in the garage over winter.

I am surprised no one has suggested the Lincoln Aviator. My Aunt has long been a Lexus owner and her husband a BMW guy. She was tired of Lexus and was ready to pull the trigger on an X5 like her husband, I suggested she just have a look at the Aviator. From the first drive she was smitten. It gets many many compliments. So far it has been zero issues, and had fantastic power, and seats 7. Good option if you don't need the Navigator level of size. I was very shocked at the improvements to the Lincoln interiors.
If they're like me and the majority of the civilized world they forget Lincoln even existed anymore......

MDX should definitely be looked at.

Don't write the CX-9 off yet. I've not heard anything bad about the current model, and our 2013 (previous gen) has been pretty trouble free so far.

Most of these suggestions are pretty off from what fits the description lol.

He stated she needs the sheer size of the GL550, GLE is too tight inside so any replacement will need to be at least around the same size as the GL550. Just goes to show how people automatically think all SUVs are "big."

I couldn't find majority of the numbers for passenger volume, so I went with cargo capacity to help illustrate which SUV suggestions would fit the bill.

2021 Yukon - 122.9 cubic feet cargo capacity
    2021 Navigator L - 120.2 cubic feet cargo capacity
2022 Wagoneer - 116.7 cubic feet cargo capacity
2021 Navigator - 103 cubic feet cargo capacity
2021 Atlas - 96.8 cubic feet cargo capacity
2022 Armada - 95.4 cubic feet cargo capacity
    2021 QX80 - 95.1 cubic feet cargo capacity
    2015 GL550 - 93.8 cubic feet cargo capacity

    ----- might be worth a look -----
    2021 Model X - 91 cubic feet cargo capacity
    2021 X7 - 90.4 cubic feet cargo capacity
2022 Telluride - 87 cubic feet cargo capacity
2022 Palisade - 86.4 cubic feet cargo capacity
    2021 XC90 - 85.7 cubic feet cargo capacity

    ----- shouldn't be considered -----
    2021 GV80 - 84 cubic feet cargo cargo capacity
2021 Highlander - 84.3 cubic feet cargo capacity
2021 Land Cruiser - 82.8 cubic feet cargo capacity
2019 Sante Fe XL - 80 cubic feet cargo capacity
    2021 XT6 - 78.7 cubic feet cargo capacity

2021 GLE - 74.9 cubic feet cargo capacity : already said this was too tight so anything below this should be automatic cuts
2022 MDX - 71.4 cubic feet cargo capacity
    2021 CX9 - 71.2 cubic feet cargo capacity
    2022 Q7 - 69.6 cubic feet cargo capacity
2021 RDX - 58.9 cubic feet cargo capacity
    2022 GV70 - 56.9 cubic feet cargo capacity
    2021 RX350 - 56.3 cubic feet cargo capacity

SUVs should only be classified as such if they are body on frame. Everything else is a CUV.

Anything but full size half ton SUV is a compromise on size

I should clarify. By rear powered seats I meant flipping them down or going flat. From the trunk of the Palisade you can flip the 2nd and 3rd row flat with a button, with the Atlas its all manual.
I had an Atlas as a rental for 2 weeks recently, drove to the island and back. Pretty comfortable, slick infotainment, great on gas(premium not required), decent cargo space.

If you’re looking for that power 2nd and 3rd row feature, then maybe go for a Kia/Hyundai but I was pretty impressed with the Atlas.

Mercedes SUVs quality are a hit and miss. My parents have a GL, I told them to ditch it years ago because it’s an unreliable mess but they’ve been lucky and have had almost zero problems with it. We borrow it a few times a year when we need the 7 seater.

We’ve been looking for a 7 seater but hate SUVs. We just bought a Sienna today, complete with tow hitch. Fuck are they impossible to find right now but @Redlyne_mr2 pulled through and found us one. Officially not a car guy anymore.
