Many SUV buyers would be better served by minivans but they don't like the stigma. Not unlike how most truck buyers never leave pavement and don't tow anything.

The Kia Carnival is a neat concept - basically a minivan for people who would rather it was an SUV:

It's like a Ford Flex, but with sliding doors like the Ford should have had.

I'm not sure I follow. The carnival is a minivan that someone designed with a ruler. If I had the itch for an SUV, this thing sure wouldn't scratch it.

Werd. That looks 100% minivan to me. And if you don't like the look of minivans then one wouldn't serve you better than an SUV.

Most SUV buyers don't have the itch for an SUV - they just don't want their Facebook friends to see they have a minivan The average SUV doesn't even see a gravel road. The idea behind the Carnival is to look more like an SUV than the minivan that it is, that's all. If you disagree, tell Kia not me Nobody is going to mistake it for a Range Rover but it looks more SUV-like than some other minivans on the road.

Are we looking at the same picture? It has an 18" long hood, and a fucking sliding door. Kia might have told you they want it to look like an SUV, but anyone with working eyeballs will debate that.

That’s actually not a bad looking minivan. Must be new as I don’t think ever heard of it or seen one on the road. Is it replacing the Sedona?

Yeah. Sedona is called Carnival in Korea. Since the US name brand went nowhere, just call them as they are.

Seen the 1st one in person while pumping gas. It definitely got presence but nobody will mistake that as an SUV.

I actually don't mind being driven around in one. There is a hi Limo package in its home market:

This kind of ableist statement discriminating against lazy and/or dead eyeballs has no place in my thread.

Mercedes SUVs quality are a hit and miss. My parents have a GL, I told them to ditch it years ago because it’s an unreliable mess but they’ve been lucky and have had almost zero problems with it. We borrow it a few times a year when we need the 7 seater.

We’ve been looking for a 7 seater but hate SUVs. We just bought a Sienna today, complete with tow hitch. Fuck are they impossible to find right now but @Redlyne_mr2 pulled through and found us one. Officially not a car guy anymore.
Congrats! Hybrid AWD? New Sienna design looks great! The only van I'd get. @Redlyne_mr2 hooked me up with a Highlander Hybrid, worked his magic and still took months. I'll never go back to ICE big vehicles. Don't worry, as long as you still have a RWD with stick shift, you're more of a car guy than most. haha

The Carnival interior is much nicer than the Sienna. Night and day. Lack of AWD ruled it out for us tho.

CEL came on in the Santa Fe.

    Guess I jinxed myself.

Took it in today. EVAP canister is broken.

Wife drove over a curb a few days ago.

for me, my lifestyle... towing, the space, needing proper transfer case and not too many bells and whistles... I'd do an Armada or a used sequoia.

Brother had a LX570 he traded in and I wish he gave me the option to buy it... that said, I think the Seq is more of a "SUV", where the LX570 is an overlander
