    Default Orthodontic Recommendation

My kid is 6 and dentist said she has a cross bite that will require a specialist to fix.

Will be paying mostly out of pocket due to lack of current employer benefits.

Anyone with good experience with orthodontist they would recommend?

Do I need to use an expensive one to get proper results? Or is there a standard of care and all offer similar service?

Results probably similar for most people. Time expended per patient varies.

Can write more later, but that's a summary I got from a relative in that business.

My eldest son is going through that at the moment. Been over a year already. Braces are off and he's in the "myobrace" time and doing mouth / tongue exercises. Not sure if the clinic is good, but we had no complaints about them. Mine is partially covered by the coverage from work, and he's going to use up his "lifetime" maximum for that category. We didn't shop around as this was recommended by a couple of our friends. The clinic is in Crowfoot. They might have a different pricing if not covered by benefits. PM me if you are interested in the name / contacts for the clinic.

What I would recommend is to find a clinic that is either close to home OR close to their school. It's a lot of appointments and sometimes in the middle of the day because everyone wants the early morning or late afternoon time slots.

    Good luck on your search.

Yeah totally agree, it's important that the location is handy for you. Ideally not too far from home/work/school, since you'll end up doing round-trips between all combinations of those three places.

I would recommend John Huynh at Mission Orthodontics. However, what was said above about travel and proximity to school/home is definitely something to consider.

Hey there, I would recommend you to get to the best specialist to get it fixed to avoid any major problems if consulted with a local. I used to get regular dental exams and checkup with my dental hygienist. At the last appointment he made me aware that I was having misaligned teeth. He made me aware to get it fixed as it can get worse if waited too long.
