    Default Anybody make automotive art?

I think I had this posted years ago when I built it, but was renovating the love emporium today and gave this lamp a good cleaning. It is the factory cam from my old first year 5.7 Hemi truck and half the stock torque converter turbine. I built it as a tri-mode touch lamp and it’s been flawless the last 15 years or so, used daily. Surprising, one of the items my wife would fight me for if we ever split up. Haha.

It weights probably 30 lbs and could double as a home defence weapon.

I like seeing this stuff! Nice!

A good friend of mine made a very successful business in Van back in the 90's making metal/automotive art. It started mostly from car parts but moved into all kinds of direction using metal as his medium.

Had a close friend die unexpectedly from necrotizing fasciitis after scratching his shoulder at work. We rode together nearly every weekend the last 3 years so I built a couple of trail markers for the massively overgrown 23km backcountry trail we just finished reopening together. I think he would appreciate the gesture.

Flattened type L copper pipe, end mill cut and brazed onto 14 ga stainless steel with 45% silver.

    Had a double take.
Thought the lamp shade was a used air filter. Haha. That would be disgusting.

Not if it's K&N, wash and re-oil weekly

Sorry for your loss, and what a great way to remember him. That's a 100x better than a bench plaque a homeless person will sleep on.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.
