ES didn't answer as immediately as needed for my exacting requirements, so I had dug earlier into the thread and found your links to be very useful.
Then the talk of links made me hungry to get some thick tubes in my mouth, so I bought some PC Blue Label jalapeno cheddar smokies and am working on burning them over an open flame.

My boys have a pair of Hosim 9130s (from Amazon) and I was amazed at how good they are. There are a couple weak links, like on one car my son broke a rear dogbone twice. But I replaced the plastic one with the metal upgrade and it’s been fine ever since.
There is a plethora of spare parts available online as well, reasonably priced.

Anyone wanna buy my traxxas maxx? I used it 3 times then left the battery to sit and it's now unchargable. Just needs a battery. It's fast AF.

Can confirm the traxxas maxx is a wicked truck. Had one and it was really impressive. Sold it to a beyonder I think. That guy that works at Lexus maybe?

how brave or are you new to lipo batteries? lol you could bring that battery back to life by charging it without plugin the balancer plug back in and charge it in the normal non lipo setting in your charger for like 1 min, then after that put it back on the lipo setting and plug in the balance plug if the cells are over the thresh hold voltage you can balance charge at 1 amp and bring the battery back.

or you can go up in flames but i brought back battery's back to life this way of course do this in an open area with a fire extinguisher near by

I'm thinking about ordering at least one of these. How do you feel about it a year later? Did they put in a box and forgotten about or still used?

Did you have any issues with the controllers interfering with each other? Can you adjust the frequency or anything?

They shouldn't. For my boys' identical Hosim cars, the controllers sync individually with their car. No problems.

Thanks guys, ordered 1 already today. That one is for me to play with but I'm guessing the boys will each want one if it turns out to be remotely as fun as ES claimed!

I have had one turn off due to... Overheating the motor?? Does that happen?

And how do you verify that you're only giving 2.0A input to the charger? I've got a bullshit powerbar that says it's 2.4A and I don't want to cook these batteries.

I have no issues with controller interference. I assume it's important to only turn one on at a time and get them in sync individually.

Well the one seems to be as advertised. I haven't had it shut off, except after about 30 minutes so I expect the battery was dead. That 30 minutes was a good time though, and had I wanted to continue the second battery was ready.

I just plugged them into a USB port on a power bar that I have no idea what the amps are but it seemed to work fine. I imagine they're saying that to protect themselves.

Hey does anyone have any idea what the name of this connector is? It's tiny too, looks about 4mm wide? The car has a couple slots that I think can power some LED lights. It seems to work when I touch the wires to it. I've got a set of lights and just need to find the right adapter; I might even be able to print one if I can figure out what this connector type is.

Nevermind, I went around it and figured out a different way. Not as elegant but gets the job done.

Actually, I guess if anyone knows I'm still curious, but not really required anymore.

It's probably in this category of connectors.

Or can try a few different ones from Amazon:

@Doozer it appears the part # of that overall assembly is PX9300-28, or 28A.

I doubt that helps, but since I was just looking in the manual I figured I'd post that.

Interesting. Thanks penismightier, I'll see if that leads anywhere. And thanks mr2mike for the links but I've already looked at those. I agree it's probably in the family somewhere but haven't found the specific one yet. I actually have some JST-xh 2.54 2-pin connecters and as tiny as they are, they're still almost double the size. It's probably some crazy proprietary thing.
