    Default Cheapie Remote Control cars

Anyone have suggestions for a cheap, under $100 remote control car? Amazon has lots, but no idea how to differentiate.

For a kid, so top performance not critical.

Will the kid grow into it and old enough to appreciate it currently? For a tiny bit more over $100, DEERC, HOSIM, and HAIBOXING make some decent ones for the price.

Which ones? They make so many different models in get confused.
Mlstly just going to be used on the sidewalk without supervision, not in special trips to somewhere wide open. So odds of it getting run over or left in the rain are pretty high.

I'd hate to spend more and then be stressed about them using the "good" RC, ya know?

Yeah I get ya. These are more "hobby grade" without hobby grade prices. I see some piece of junk ones at Toys R Us or Wal Mart for $80.

With that being said, these might be underappreciated based on your comments above.

I think that deerc looks good. little smaller than the others, which means it's lighter and easier to store, and potentially more durable.

This little thing is sick. I had to turn the speed down a long way to make it useable by myself and even further down for my kids. Very fast, seems well built. Charges with any usb port, and two batteries so you can play while one charges.

That looks awesome! Yeah those 1:18 scale cars are so popular these days. Glad the quality is decent. Worst case Amazon return policy is pretty rad if short term use shows problems.

Deerc truck very good over long weekend with kids and cousins using it. Only issue is the cotter pins that hold the body to the chassis fall out when the truck flips and we lost 3/4 of them. Had to dig around the shed for some appropriate wore and hand-twist that on every time we changed the battery. Battery lasts really good, I'm super impressed.

Did a range test on the road and I can get 80-100m distance before it stops. At that distance it's super hard to control because it's so small I can't visually identify what direction it's facing so I'm likely to run it into something.

Anyway, summary, very good tuck, haven't broke it yet

If interested I have a 'hobby grade' drift RC car that's been collecting dust for several years. Comes with a couple bodies, extra TE37 wheels/tires and a charger. Haven't used it in years so I dont even know if it work (I'm sure it does as it did when I put it away).

    $100 and its yours.

    Its this one:

How long do the batteries last?

Probably lasts 20 minutes of hard use, 30 if you are driving slow or have it turned down lower. Came with 2 batteries. Charges in about an hour?
