Default Interview CP Rail - Rail Traffic Controller (RTC)

    Hello,

I hope everyone is doing well. I tried to search this particular position in the forums but had minimal luck. I have recently applied for a position which is Rail Traffic Controller, fast forward I did the information session and first interview that is a full day event.

Presently I have been called for another interview, minimal information was given. For the first interview they strictly stated it was a Behavior based so basically the STAR method.

Anyone who has done a second interview for this particular position? Or anyone beyonder in the role presently or was in the past?

Suggestions from all members are appreciated!

Yes it'll be star based. They have a very formal interview process. @bourge73 can maybe say more?
CP is an interesting company. I wanna work there some day.

Can’t say I’d ever want to work somewhere that does the “star” method.

That's ok you probably wouldn't get the job anyway.

Of all the bad ways for a company to do an interview, the STAR method isn't a concern for me at all.
Much worse is 1) companies who interview but don't have approval to hire or 2) companies who interview but don't know what tasks and duties are in the job description.
    STAR is fine.

You're an engineer. Already qualified to run train.

Ha a friend of mine is trying to hire and got approval to do so. Interviews and what not.. Then they deny approval to issue an offer. Stupid.

Star interview? Is that where you show them your star? I thought that didn't happen until after you were hired.

I was at CP for a bit, just make sure you have some good STAR related responses to behavioral questions. It's a pretty high stress role, but good benefits/pay.

This may be more dignified than interviewing with CP.

Thanks. Were you in a similar position ? I hear high stress and scheduling is a tough one. But let’s see how it goes.

Both may result in having to worry about what's in the caboose.
