Absolutely. And documented the amount of oil it took to top up (almost two quarts, it was fairly low).
That's not going to hurt anything but you have solidly made your mind up that this is going to ruin your brand new purchase.

Was this vehicle purchased without a warranty or something?

It’s a Corolla, just drive it. If it breaks, they fix it under warranty.

    Am I missing something here?
    I like neat cars.

Op Probly wants a new motor or extended power train warranty or a buyback. Either way his new car purchase experience is tainted now and the car is garbage.

Why not just test the oil itself. Your eyes won't be able to see any particulate. And if you do, then that is ultra bad.
You certainly could. I use Metrotech (Calgary)for work, I think it’s around $20 plus a few bucks for the empty sample container. One issue is you need a new sample of the exact oil to compare it to otherwise you will just get a long meaningless list of soft metals in the test results. New oil starts off with lots of soft metals to begin with.

This dealership isn’t going to do anything for you. It was two quarts short on oil, which will have no effect on the motor. If by some small miracle if does grenade, it will be soon and under warranty. If it grenades in 7 years, a replacement motor will be less than the hassle this is already causing you. Pick a new dealer and move on with life

I mean. If this car is dead to you.

Have you checked your dealers policies on buyers remorse? Surprisingly common. Maybe you can just throw the keys back at them?

Well one lesson learned is that it's good to check this stuff on delivery. Every engine is different but I'm not sure I'd be worried unless I was doing a bunch of hard cornering near redline. If you really want to escalate the issue I'd be talking to Toyota, not the dealership.

I would also be worried if I was hard cornering a Corolla near red line.
