    Default S10 wth a 350

I don’t know much about classic trucks. I am being offered a 85 s10 with a 350 in it for trade for my Harley Davidson Sportster 1200. Are these something worth having? What value should be attributed to it? Worth the swap or look for something else?

If buddy can’t sell his S10 to come up with the cash to buy your bike why would you even consider accepting such an offer.

need a lot more info than that to determine any type of value, it's valuable to the right person in the right condition... but i am curious, it's something I've considered doing as a project.

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.

There is a large group of people that regularly swap vehicles like ex-wives. I still wouldn't touch any of those though because they get bagged on and/or modded by a dozen different people.

Why inherit someone else’s project. Could be a lot of hidden issue, cut corners etc.

I put my Harley on Kijiji for trade with some vehicle $15K or less - something I can kick around in for fun year round. That’s just one of the offers I got. He sent a couple of pictures and nothing else. I have asked about mileage and condition etc.

I’m saying he’s only offering it to you because it’s proven impossible to sell

I would agree with the limited information give that its 100% worth less than $15k

I mean if he is offering it with $15k cash on top, sure?

If it's currently running, driving and insured, shit go for it. The financial risk is less than any trip to a dealership for you.

Probably a bad trade, but yolo.

Lol. Well the bike is worth around $9K. I am saying I will get something that is around $15K or less and pay the difference if need be. I recently hurt my shoulder and ultrasound showed tendon/ligament tear so I have been told not to ride bikes for a while. I figured instead of just having it sit around, would be nice to have something fun especially manual but doesn’t need to be.

s10s and 350s aren't worth much as most are hack jobs and never done right.

If you want a project and something to tinker on sure... but those things are worth 2-3k tops depending on state and how it was done.

Yea I don’t think it’s the right vehicle for me. I am not mechanically inclined at all and can’t fix shit.

Yea that’s another factor. Ideally I was looking at fun shit like the Mini Cooper, Miata (even tho I think they girly lol), RX8, 350z, g35 or something along the lines to kick around in. Depending on what it is, I’ll put that in the garage and keep the Rebel out as it has a car starter. I’ll eventually be getting rid of that at some point soon enough anyway so not a big deal if it’s out.

A 350z, g35/37, or miata would all be a great choice for a <$10k fun beater. Rx8 would be fun, when it was running. Could consider an older camaro or something as well. An s10 is just a shitbox.

The guy said his s10 is worth $11K…lol. I think let’s pass on this one and I will look at some other options.
