I feel for Vladar, the fact he never even got a chance when Markstrom never got higher than a 0.84 sv% and 4 GA is ridiculous. Markstrom got lit up by the oilers in the regular season and again now. Even 0.900 goal tending and this goes to 6 or 7 games

Yup. We can blame defense all we want, but you gotta save some of those goals when there’s a defensive breakdown, not let almost every one in. Oilers must be in Markstroms head or something, this whole season he’s played 800 sv% against the oilers.

Kick was a bad call especially when it was so close, it was going in anyway, and they overturned the on ice ruling. Replays always make things look way more intentional just because it unnaturally slows down the play so much. Although I don't think it affected the outcome of the series.

This is likely the start of Oilers domination for years to come. They've got generational talent in CM I figured it was trouble as soon as they drafted him. Their team had been awful for so long.

At least we made it out of the 1st round (barely) unlike the leafs.

I will say a lot of weird things happened in this series - 15 goals in gm 1; giveaway & long distance goals in gm 4; and the overturned call but Flames winning 3 in a row was a looooong shot especially when they were being outplayed most of the series. Oilers are a more talented team.

I would have literally dressed Koskinen for this game as it should've been a guaranteed loss for Edmonton. There's no way Edmonton was losing Game 6 at home or losing this series when they have a pair of Hart Trophy winners who were up 3-1 in a series where they score at will on one of Calgary's best assets - a Vezina goalie.

It impacted this game, but let's not pretend it occurred in Game-7 during OT. Calgary was not going to win with Chucky and Gaudreau failing to pick up the slack while their amazing goalie was getting shelled.

Blame refs all you want, flames were outmatched offensively. Sway calls to our side, same result. All Edmonton had to do was play some defense, and that’s all it took to dominate us. Especially when Markstrom has always played the oilers like he was smith. Not that vladar would’ve been any better, but we’ll never know.

Oh I 100% agree with you. I think as a fan, for sure it just gets very frustrating because it can definitely switch the momentum. I do wish Vladar was given a chance also even at the early stages of the series.

It's not the Oilers' time. Sorry. They are going to lose against Colorado. Bank it.

They should never have won against Calgary even, but the Flames just didn't play well. They looked slow out there far too often, and missing Tanev hurt. And Marky (I still love him from Vancouver) played quite awful - especially for a player of his calibre.

As for the disallowed goal - the issue lies in the fact he had momentum so his leg was moving forward when it deflected the puck. Back in the day, this would not have been a goal for certain. But since they have over the years redefined what a "kicking motion" entails, I don't think this should have been disallowed - especially since it was an overturn of the ref's initial call. By today's standards, the requirement is supposed to be a true kicking motion for a disallowed goal, and this was certainly not it.

I think at the end of the day the Oilers were winning this series. Marky was atrocious, Chucky was invisible, Kylington is absolutely brutal (I have no idea how he is still on the NHL squad), and Tanev was hurt. You can't have 88-11-20 be your only consistent playoff performers and expect anything to come of it.

That being said, that blown call was such a brutal way to go out. That should have counted then the flames would have won that game and the stupid Oilers could have taken the series at home.
